Prices come from the plan data on grammarly.com/plans. The page headline shows $12, which is the annual rate.
What each plan includes
Free checks spelling and basic grammar in 23 languages, shows the tone of your writing and gives 100 AI prompts a month for drafting or rewriting. It does not include tone adjustment, sentence rewrites, plagiarism checks, AI detection or citations.
Pro adds full sentence rewrites, tone adjustment, fluency help for non native English writers, unlimited personalized suggestions, plagiarism detection against 16 billion+ web pages and ProQuest papers, AI text detection, 1 style guide, 1 brand tone, snippets, knowledge share and team analytics. Each member gets 2,000 AI prompts per month.
Enterprise adds unlimited prompts, unlimited style guides and brand tones, BYOK encryption, custom roles, data loss prevention, managed and confidential modes, SCIM, audit logs API, domain controls, ROI reporting and dedicated support. Grammarly says Enterprise is available through Superhuman Go.
What the limits mean in practice
There is no word cap on checking. The limit is AI prompts: each request like "rewrite this paragraph" or "draft a reply" uses one. 100 prompts on Free is about 5 per working day. 2,000 on Pro is about 90 per working day, which is more than most people use. Grammar and spelling underlines do not count as prompts.
Annual vs monthly
The billing term changes the price more than the plan does.
| Term | Charged | Cost over 12 months |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly | $30 per month | $360 |
| Quarterly | $60 every 3 months | $240 |
| Annual | $144 once | $144 |
Annual saves $216 a year against monthly, a 60% discount. Quarterly is the middle option for a student covering one term or anyone who wants to try Pro for a few months without a full year commitment.
The Superhuman bundle
Grammarly the company renamed itself Superhuman in November 2025, and Superhuman sells its own suite. Its plans page lists:
| Superhuman plan | Monthly | Annual | Includes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | $0 | Grammarly, Go, Docs |
| Pro | $15 per member | $12 per member | Grammarly, Go, Docs |
| Business | $40 per member | $33 per member | Adds Superhuman Mail |
| Enterprise | Custom | Custom | Everything |
On annual billing, Superhuman Pro and Grammarly Pro cost the same $12. On monthly billing, Superhuman Pro is half the price. Superhuman describes its Pro writing features as unlimited paragraph rewrites, unlimited proofreading and AI detection, and a plagiarism checker, but it does not state a prompt count, so confirm the limits match your needs before you choose it over Grammarly Pro.
Hidden costs and billing traps
- Monthly billing. The $12 headline is annual. Monthly is 2.5x higher.
- Trial renewal. The free trial converts to a paid plan. Grammarly sends a reminder 2 days before, but Trustpilot reviewers report unexpected charges, so set your own reminder.
- Security features. SSO, data loss prevention and domain controls are Enterprise only, so regulated teams cannot stay on Pro.
- Languages. Advanced suggestions and paragraph rewrites cover only 6 languages; if you write in Polish or Korean, Pro adds less.
