What each limit means in practice
- 250 free reaction roles covers almost every server. Even a big community with color, region, game and ping roles rarely passes 100.
- 2 Twitch and 5 YouTube alerts free suits a single creator. A collective of streamers needs Premium's 5 Twitch slots, and past that, a dedicated alerts bot.
- Levels are the main paywall. If XP and leaderboards matter, you pay $7.99 a month or pair the free Carl-bot with a leveling bot.
- Drama Watcher sends automod hits to a mod channel where moderators act with reactions, a time saver for busy mod teams.

Patreon's yearly option is about 17% off every tier. Carl-bot's FAQ says you can cancel anytime and keep Premium until the end of the billing period.
Hidden costs
- Patreon only for multi server. Discord subscriptions cover one server each; only Patreon tiers bundle slots.
- Patreon account and linking. You need a Patreon account linked to the right Discord account. Carl-bot's docs include a step by step fix for premium slots that do not show up after you subscribe.
- June 2025 price rise. New subscribers pay the current tiers; the old cheaper tiers are gone.
- Prefix commands ended. Carl-bot disabled prefix commands on October 5, 2026; only slash and mention commands work. Not a cost, but budget setup time if your server guides still say ?command.
