What it is

Dyno is a modular Discord bot that has been running since 2016, published by Swift Media Entertainment. Every module (moderation, automod, tickets, reaction roles, forms, welcome messages, giveaways and more) is switched on and configured from the dashboard at dyno.gg. Its top.gg listing pitches it as "the Discord bot you actually control", and the design matches: settings pages, not syntax.

Dyno shows 11.6M servers on top.gg and rates 4.38 from 375 reviews.

Pricing explained

Plan Monthly Yearly Per month on yearly What it adds
Free $0 $0 $0 Automod, tickets, starboard, 25 commands, 3 forms
Standard $5.99 $49.99 $4.17 Levels, unlimited commands and modules, advanced automod, autopurge, slowmode, voice text linking
Premium $7.99 $59.99 $5.00 Standard plus Twitch, YouTube, TikTok, Reddit and Kick integrations
Custom $12.99 $99.99 $8.33 Premium plus your own avatar, username and status, more performance

Prices are from Dyno's premium page in October 2026. Every plan is for one server of your choice, and each can be gifted.

What to notice:

Yearly saves about 30%. Standard on monthly is $71.88 a year against $49.99 yearly. Premium monthly is $95.88 against $59.99.

The gap between Standard and Premium is alerts. If you do not need Twitch or YouTube notifications from Dyno, Standard is enough.

Custom is cheaper than most custom bots. $99.99 a year gets a branded bot. MEE6 bundles its Bot Personalizer into yearly and lifetime plans, and Carl-bot added custom avatar and banner to premium.

Against rivals: MEE6 lists $11.99 a month, Carl-bot $7.99 for one server, Arcane $7. Dyno Standard at $4.17 a month on yearly billing is the lowest. The Price Index has the whole category.

Key features

Automod

Free automod filters spam, links, bad words, mentions and more, and Autoban sets rules for new members on join (1 autoban per rule on free). Standard adds Advanced Automod.

Moderation

Warnings, mutes, kicks and bans with full mod logs, auto punishments and protected roles, per its top.gg listing.

Tickets

Members open private support threads with staff, managed from the dashboard. Tickets are on the free tier.

Forms

A form builder for applications and questionnaires that plugs into Discord. Free servers get 3.

Reaction roles and autoroles

3 reaction role menus and 3 autoroles on free; unlimited on Standard. Autoroles can be immediate or delayed.

Custom commands and autoresponders

25 custom commands and 10 autoresponders free. Dyno says its commands can run actions, not just reply.

Leveling

XP, ranks and role rewards, but only on Standard and up.

Social alerts

Twitch, YouTube, TikTok, Reddit and Kick on the Premium plan.

Extras

Giveaways, starboard, announcements, joinable ranks, reminders, AFK status, autodelete rules per channel and a Battle Pass section on its site.

What users say

Dyno holds 4.38 on top.gg from 375 reviews: 283 five star, 29 four star, 21 three star, 5 two star and 37 one star. The praise centers on the dashboard and free moderation. The complaints we saw most were about the switch to slash commands, with reviewers asking to bring back the ? prefix because slash commands load more slowly.

Privacy and security

Dyno is a moderation bot, so it needs permissions to ban, kick and manage roles and messages. Give it only the permissions its modules use, and keep its role below your admin roles. Dyno's site links a privacy policy, a cookie policy and a "Your Privacy Choices" page. For raid and nuke protection on large servers, many owners add Wick alongside Dyno.

Setup

Setup takes four steps. Invite Dyno from dyno.gg and approve the permissions. Open the dashboard and pick your server. Turn on the modules you want, starting with Moderation and Automod, then set a mod log channel. Finally, type / in any channel to see the slash commands members and mods can run.

A sensible first configuration for a new community:

  1. Automod: turn on spam, link and mention filters, and set an autoban rule for brand new accounts.
  2. Moderation: pick a mod log channel and set protected roles so mods cannot act on admins.
  3. Autoroles: give a member role on join, with a delay if you get bot joins.
  4. Reaction roles: one menu for pings, one for regions or games (3 menus on free).
  5. Tickets: one support panel for reports and questions.
  6. Welcome: a short DM with the rules channel link.

That uses the free tier only. Add Standard when you want levels or more than 3 menus.

Cost over a year

Need Plan Yearly cost
Moderation, automod, tickets Free $0
Add leveling and unlimited modules Standard yearly $49.99
Add Twitch and YouTube alerts Premium yearly $59.99
Branded bot with your own name Custom yearly $99.99
Same as Premium, paid monthly Premium monthly $95.88

Running three servers on Premium yearly costs $179.97 a year, because each plan covers one server. MEE6 on yearly billing would be $179.97 after its first discounted year too, but its first year promo is cheaper. Carl-bot's 3 server Patreon tier is $16.99 a month, or $203.88 a year, with leveling included.

Who it is for

  • Moderation first servers that want automod free.
  • Owners who want tickets and forms without a second bot.
  • Anyone who wants premium for about $50 a year.

Who should skip it

  • Leveling focused servers that will not pay; use Arcane, which gives 15 role rewards free.
  • Prefix command fans; Dyno is slash first now.
  • Servers that need many alert sources; MEE6 lists ten.

Alternatives

Verdict

Dyno is the default pick for most servers: free automod and tickets, a clean dashboard and premium for $49.99 a year. Pay for Standard if you want leveling, Premium if you want social alerts, and look elsewhere only if you need MEE6's alert range or Carl-bot's reaction role depth.
