Green-bot Review 2026: Pricing, Features and Verdict

What it is

Green-bot is a music bot for Discord voice channels with a web dashboard. Its premium page invites you to join more than 1,500,000 servers, and its public GitHub repository (Apache 2.0) says the bot was used in 700k servers at the time it was written. That repository's README notes the public code differs from the production bot and is meant for learning, with a separate all in one branch.

You can play links from Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer or direct audio URLs, and three bot instances on free let you run music in more than one channel. After you invite it, the bot posts a getting started message in your server's system channel, and the docs walk through the prefix and playing your first song.

Pricing explained

Plan	Price	What you get
Free	$0	High quality music, 3 bot instances, dashboard, some vote locked commands
Lite	$3.75 per month plus VAT	24/7, no vote locks, premium for 1 server, music in up to 7 channels
Basic	$6.49 per month plus VAT	Custom bot for 1 server
Pro	$8.49 per month plus VAT	Custom bot for up to 3 servers, custom status, early access

Prices are as listed on green-bot.app/premium on October 18, 2026, with 20% off for yearly billing. The site blocked automated fetches when we rechecked on October 19, and an older docs page (March 2024) still lists a single Guild premium tier at $1.50 a month or $20 a year, so the price you see at checkout is the one that counts.

What premium adds, per the docs. Skip vote locks, a default track announcement channel, auto shuffle for playlists, speed and pitch controls, four extra filters, unlimited queue size and access to additional higher quality bots.

VAT is extra. Unlike most Discord bots, Green-bot lists prices plus VAT, so EU buyers pay more than the headline.

Year one cost: $0 on free, or about $36 for Lite yearly at 20% off ($3.75 x 12 x 0.8). FlaviBot Silver is about $44.90 (39.90 euros) a year and Jockie Music starts at $5 a month on Patreon. See the Price Index.

Key features

Multi source playback

Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer and direct links, per its FAQ. YouTube is not named.

Three free instances

Three bot instances on free, so you can play music in up to three voice channels at once. Lite raises music to up to 7 channels on one server.

24/7 mode (premium)

The /247 command keeps the bot in a voice channel when nothing is playing. Its own FAQ marks this as premium.

Vote locks

Some free commands require you to vote for Green-bot on a bot listing site first. Premium removes vote locks.

Filters, speed and pitch (premium)

Audio filters plus speed and pitch controls are premium perks in the docs.

Custom bot (Basic and Pro)

Run Green-bot under your own name and avatar on 1 server (Basic) or 3 servers (Pro).

Dashboard

A web dashboard for server settings, DJ permissions and playback.

Which plan to pick

• Free: enough for a friend server that plays music while people are in voice. Vote for the bot when a command asks.
• Lite: the plan most servers want if they pay, because it covers 24/7, removes vote locks and allows up to 7 music channels on one server.
• Basic or Pro: only if you want the bot under your own name and avatar. Pro makes sense when you run 2 or 3 servers and want a branded bot on each.

Setup

1. Invite Green-bot from green-bot.app. The default link requests Administrator; use the basic permissions link the docs offer instead.
2. Read the welcome message it posts in your system channel.
3. Join a voice channel and play a Spotify or Deezer link.
4. Set DJ permissions in the dashboard.
5. Upgrade to Lite if you need 24/7 or want to remove vote locks.

What users say

Green-bot rates 3.99 on top.gg from 707 reviews, below FlaviBot (4.86), Rythm (4.66) and Jockie Music (4.63) among the music bots we compared. We report the score and count only. The mismatch between the free 24/7 claim on its top.gg blurb and the premium only 24/7 in its FAQ is the kind of thing that frustrates users, so read the plan list before relying on 24/7.

Privacy and security

Green-bot's default invite asks for Administrator, which no music bot needs. Use the basic permissions invite from its docs so the bot can only join voice and read commands. Its public code is a learning version rather than the production bot, so it is not a full audit trail.

Who it is for

• Small servers that want a simple free music bot with three instances.
• Servers that want paid 24/7 music at the lowest monthly price among the bots we compared.
• Admins who like a dashboard over slash commands.

Who should skip it

• Servers that want more on free: Jockie Music runs up to 4 free bots and FlaviBot adds a web player and radio.
• Servers that weigh public ratings: FlaviBot and Rythm score higher.
• Admins who will not use vote locked commands.

Alternatives

• FlaviBot review: top rated free music bot with a web player and radio.
• Jockie Music review: up to 4 free bots in separate channels.
• Rythm review: licensed music with a Discord Activity and desktop apps.
• More in best Discord music bots and best Discord bots.

Verdict

Green-bot is a dependable free music bot and the cheapest paid 24/7 among the music bots we compared, from $3.75 a month plus VAT. But its free 24/7 promise does not match its own plan list, vote locks gate some commands, and its ratings trail the field. Install FlaviBot first, and keep Green-bot as a second option if you want cheap 24/7.
