Sapphire is the best fully free all in one bot: every feature is free, it holds 4.83 on top.gg from 218 reviews, and it runs in more than 1.86 million servers per its site. Paid options are only Limit Increase ($2.99 a month) and Custom Branding from about $5.63 (5 euros), so the tradeoff is no leveling system and a smaller support team than MEE6 or Dyno.

What it is

Sapphire is a multi purpose Discord bot that pitches itself as a multi purpose bot done right. Its site counts more than 1,861,100 servers and 648.7 million users, and lists partner servers including Universal Music and Marvel Rivals communities. You configure it through a web dashboard and a built in message editor, and every message the bot sends can be edited there.

The module list on sapph.xyz: message components (self assign roles, info messages, keyword triggered messages), moderation with cases, reason aliases and custom DM notices, automod on top of Discord's own AutoMod, social media notifications, logging and the message editor. Its top.gg description adds custom slash commands, buttons and reaction roles.

Custom Branding From about $5.63 (5 euros) per month Your own bot name, avatar, status and about me; logs without webhooks; global user update logs

Prices are from Sapphire's Limit Increase and Custom Branding pages in October 2026. Custom Branding is listed in euros only; we converted at the ECB reference rate of 1.1253 on October 16, 2026. Sapphire's FAQ says branding has different price tiers but does not list them, so expect larger servers to pay more.

You probably do not need Limit Increase. Sapphire says free limits are set as high as possible to stop abuse of single features and most users will not reach them. If one limit blocks you, ask in the Limit increase channel of its support forum for a free bump; it is slower but costs nothing.

Year one cost for a typical server: $0. Compare MEE6 at $11.99 a month, Dyno from $5.99, Carl-bot from $7.99 and Arcane at $7, which charge for features Sapphire gives away. See the Price Index.

Key features

Automod

10+ modules layered on top of Discord's built in AutoMod, with punishments based on conditions (for example, timeout after a third spam strike). You add actions to Discord's native rules instead of replacing them.

Logging

80+ log types, with ignore lists for users, roles and channels so bot spam and staff channels do not flood the logs. That is one of the deepest free logging setups in Discord. Custom Branding adds logs without webhooks and global user update logs.

Moderation

Case management, reason aliases (type a short code instead of a full ban reason) and customizable DM notifications to punished members.

Message components and reaction roles

Buttons and select menus for self assigned roles, info panels and rules gates, plus classic reaction roles. Keyword triggered messages answer common questions automatically.

Custom slash commands and the message editor

Build your own slash commands and button responses in a visual editor, and edit any message the bot sends, including scheduled and triggered messages, without writing code.

Social notifications

Twitch, YouTube and TikTok alerts, with live updating stream messages and fully custom text.

Setup

  1. Invite Sapphire from sapph.xyz and log in to the dashboard with Discord.
  2. Turn on logging first: pick a log channel per category and set ignore lists.
  3. Enable automod modules and set escalating punishments.
  4. Build a roles panel with buttons or select menus in the message editor.
  5. Add social notifications and any custom slash commands.

Keep Sapphire's role below your staff roles so moderators cannot be punished by the bot, and only grant the permissions each module needs.

What users say

Sapphire rates 4.83 on top.gg from 218 reviews, the highest score among the big general purpose bots we compared (Arcane 4.67, Dyno 4.38, Carl-bot 3.14). Its strongest selling points on the published facts are that nothing is paywalled and that logging and custom commands go deeper than most free tiers. With only 218 reviews it has a smaller review base than Dyno or Carl-bot, and its support runs through its Discord server rather than a ticket desk.

Privacy and security

Sapphire links a right of withdrawal page and its legal terms from the site footer. As with any moderation bot, it reads message events to power logs and automod, so check which channels it can see. Logs live in your server channels; Custom Branding's logs without webhooks change how they are delivered. Do not give it Administrator; grant only the permissions your modules need.

Who it is for

  • Any server that wants moderation, automod and logging without paying.
  • Communities with streamers or creators who need Twitch, YouTube and TikTok alerts.
  • Admins who want custom slash commands and button panels without code.
  • Brands that want a white label bot for a few dollars a month.

Who should skip it

  • Servers that want leveling and XP rewards: add Arcane, Tatsu or AmariBot, or use MEE6.
  • Servers that want built in support tickets: Tickets or Ticket Tool.
  • Admins who prefer a huge help community and many tutorials: Dyno has more.

Alternatives

Verdict

Sapphire is the bot to add first if you want strong moderation, automod and logging for free. Its 4.83 top.gg score and 1.86 million servers back that up. Skip the paid extras unless you want your own branding, and pair it with a leveling bot, since that is the one thing it does not do.

Frequently asked questions

Is Sapphire bot free?

Yes. Sapphire's site describes the bot as completely free, and every feature (automod, moderation, logging, reaction roles, custom commands, buttons and social notifications) works without paying. The only paid products are Limit Increase and Custom Branding, which add no features.

What does Sapphire Limit Increase do?

It sets all of Sapphire's feature limits to unlimited for $2.99 a month or $35.88 a year. Sapphire says its free limits are set as high as possible and most servers never hit them, and you can ask for a single limit to be raised free in its support server.

How much is Sapphire Custom Branding?

Custom Branding starts at 5 euros a month, about $5.63 at the October 16, 2026 ECB rate. It lets the bot run under your own name, avatar, status and about me, and adds logs without webhooks and global user update logs. Sapphire says price tiers vary, without listing them.

Does Sapphire have leveling?

No. Sapphire's feature list covers moderation, automod, logging, message components, notifications and the message editor, but not an XP or leveling system. Pair it with a leveling bot like Arcane, Tatsu or AmariBot.

Can Sapphire do reaction roles?

Yes. Sapphire's message components let members pick roles through buttons, select menus or reactions, and the top.gg listing names reaction roles among its core features.

Sapphire or Dyno?

Sapphire if you want everything free, including 80+ log types and custom slash commands. Dyno if you want a bigger support community and built in tickets, with premium from $5.99 a month. Many servers run Sapphire for logging and automod and a separate bot for leveling.

Sapphire or Carl-bot?

Sapphire for most servers: it is free, rated 4.83 on top.gg against Carl-bot's 3.14, and its custom commands use a visual message editor. Carl-bot still wins on TagScript scripting depth and has paid leveling.
