HubSpot Customer Agent Review 2026: Pricing, Features and Verdict
HubSpot's AI support agent, judged on published credit pricing, what counts as a resolution, CRM depth, channels and security.
By , research by the BestBots team · Updated Oct 19, 2026
Fact checked against each company's published pricing, documentation and verified user ratings. How we score
HubSpot Customer Agent is the best value AI support agent in October 2026 for companies already on HubSpot: $0.50 per resolved conversation, voice at $0.50 a minute, and answers that draw on your CRM records and past conversations. The catch is the entry ticket: it needs Service Hub Professional at $100 per seat plus a $1,500 onboarding fee.

For a business already on HubSpot, Customer Agent has the lowest published per resolution price here at $0.50, paid in HubSpot credits, and it reads your CRM data. It requires Service Hub Professional at $100 per seat per month plus a $1,500 onboarding fee, so it is not a cheap entry point.

What it is
Customer Agent is HubSpot's AI agent for customer service. It answers customers on chat, email, forms, WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger and inbound phone calls, using your knowledge base, website, CRM data, historical conversations and documents such as PDFs and meeting transcripts. When it cannot help, it hands the conversation to a human in the HubSpot help desk with context.
It is part of Service Hub, HubSpot's customer service product, and is available only on Professional and Enterprise subscriptions. That makes it a feature of the HubSpot platform rather than a standalone chatbot you bolt onto another helpdesk.
HubSpot reports a 70% average resolution rate, with top teams at 90%, and says customers using it close 74% more tickets on average.
Pricing explained
Customer Agent is billed in HubSpot credits at $0.01 each:
| Item | Credits | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Resolved text conversation | 50 | $0.50 |
| Voice, per minute | 50 | $0.50 |
| Extra credits | 1,000 pack | $10 |
The platform it runs on:
| Plan | Seat price per month | Included credits a month | One time onboarding |
|---|---|---|---|
| Service Hub Starter | Core seat $20 (no Customer Agent) | 500 | None |
| Service Hub Professional | $100 | 3,000 | $1,500 |
| Service Hub Enterprise | $150 | 5,000 | $3,500 |
Seat prices are from HubSpot's product catalog. The public pricing page also shows a $90 Professional figure, likely an annual or promotional rate, so confirm billing terms in your quote.
What is billed. HubSpot defines a resolution as support provided by the agent with no handoff to a human for 72 hours. A customer who asks for a person, or whom the agent escalates within that window, is not billed. That is fairer than Intercom Fin's assumed resolutions and close to Zendesk's verified only rule.
What adds up. Credits are shared with every other HubSpot AI feature and do not roll over. 3,000 included credits cover 60 resolutions if you use credits for nothing else. Voice is per minute, so a five minute call costs $2.50 whether or not it resolves.
A five seat Professional team resolving 1,000 conversations a month pays $500 in seats plus 50,000 credits, of which 3,000 are included: 47,000 extra credits at $10 per 1,000 is $470. Total $970 a month after the $1,500 onboarding. The full math at four sizes is on HubSpot Customer Agent pricing.
Key features
CRM context
The main advantage over standalone agents: Customer Agent can use CRM records, so it can see a customer's plan, recent orders, open tickets or deal stage, and personalize answers. It also learns from historical conversations, which most rivals do not list as a source.
Knowledge sources
Knowledge base articles, website pages, CRM data, past conversations and custom documents. Service Hub Professional and Enterprise support up to 100 knowledge bases with 10,000 articles each, against 1 knowledge base on Free and Starter.
Channels
Chat, email, forms, WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger and inbound voice. WhatsApp is a Professional feature. Voice is billed per minute rather than per resolution.
Handoff
When the agent cannot resolve a question, or your rules say so, it passes the conversation to a human rep in the HubSpot help desk with the conversation history and CRM context. Handoffs within 72 hours are not billed.
Languages
HubSpot says Customer Agent is available in all HubSpot supported languages.
The rest of Service Hub
Every paid Service Hub tier includes ticketing, live chat and conversational bots, all tied to the same CRM records your marketing and sales teams use.
What users say
HubSpot Service Hub holds 4.4 on G2 from 3,018 reviews, a large base for the platform as a whole. Separate public ratings for Customer Agent alone are not available. HubSpot's own figures, a 70% average resolution rate and 84% higher ticket resolution for users, are vendor averages; measure your own rate in the first month.
Privacy and security
HubSpot says third party AI providers are contractually prohibited from training on your data, that you control what data providers can access, and that it holds SOC 2 Type 2 certification with encryption, access controls and monitoring. If you handle health or payment data, confirm which HubSpot features are covered by its compliance programs before routing those conversations to the agent.
Setup
Customer Agent is configured inside Service Hub, so setup is mostly content and rules rather than integration work:
- Confirm your tier. You need Service Hub Professional or Enterprise, and the one time onboarding ($1,500 or $3,500) is part of the purchase.
- Add knowledge. Connect your knowledge base, website pages and documents such as PDFs and transcripts. Professional supports up to 100 knowledge bases, which helps if you serve several products or regions.
- Choose channels. Turn the agent on for chat, email, forms, WhatsApp, Messenger or inbound calls. Start with one text channel so you can read every answer in week one.
- Set handoff rules. Decide which topics always go to a person and how the agent passes context to reps in the help desk. Remember handoffs inside 72 hours are not billed, so generous rules cost nothing.
- Budget credits. Check how many HubSpot credits other teams use for AI features, since they share the monthly pool, and buy capacity packs before a launch rather than relying on pay as you go.
- Measure. Compare your resolution rate with HubSpot's reported 70% average after the first month, then expand channels.
Because the agent lives in the same CRM as marketing and sales, the biggest early win is often deciding what account data the agent should use, such as plan, order history or open tickets, so answers are specific rather than generic.
Who it is for
- Companies already on HubSpot CRM and Service Hub Professional or Enterprise
- B2B and SaaS teams where the right answer depends on the customer's account
- Teams that want the lowest published price per resolution and a fair handoff rule
- Businesses that want support, sales and marketing data in one platform
Who should skip it
- Teams on Zendesk, Intercom or Freshdesk that do not plan to move CRM; Fin standalone is easier
- Small teams that cannot justify $100 seats plus $1,500 onboarding
- Ecommerce stores that need order actions on Shopify; see Gorgias
- Voice heavy contact centers; per minute voice billing adds up
Alternatives
- Intercom Fin: $0.99 per outcome, runs standalone on HubSpot and other helpdesks
- Zendesk AI agents: omnichannel helpdesk with verified only billing
- Freshdesk Freddy AI: cheaper seats and $0.49 sessions
- Salesforce Agentforce: the CRM native rival for Salesforce shops

Verdict
For HubSpot customers, Customer Agent is close to an automatic yes: $0.50 per resolution, no charge for handoffs within 72 hours, CRM aware answers and SOC 2 Type 2, inside the platform you already pay for. For everyone else, the price of entry is the problem: Service Hub Professional seats, a $1,500 onboarding fee and credits shared across HubSpot's AI features. If you are not moving to HubSpot, start with Fin standalone instead.
