By , research by the BestBots team · Updated Oct 18, 2026
Fact checked against each company's published pricing, documentation and verified user ratings. How we score
The Mammotion Luba 3 AWD is the best wire free mower you can order today for a hilly yard with trees. It is the only one that fuses 360 degree LiDAR, network RTK and camera vision, it climbs 80% slopes, and it runs up to 215 minutes per charge. The tradeoff is support: Mammotion scores 3.6 on Trustpilot, with firmware complaints.

The Luba 3 stacks every navigation method on one mower, so it keeps its position under trees, at night and in open lawn, and it climbs 80% slopes. The tradeoffs: a lower top cut height on the standard version (2.7 in) and a mixed support record on Trustpilot.

What it is
The Luba 3 AWD is Mammotion's 2026 flagship, listed on its US store at the end of 2025 above the Luba mini 2 AWD and the Yuka line. Mammotion calls itself the world's number one wire free robot mower brand, and the Luba series is where that claim started.
It comes in three sizes:
| Version | Rated lawn size |
|---|---|
| Luba 3 AWD 1500 | 0.37 acre |
| Luba 3 AWD 3000 | 0.75 acre |
| Luba 3 AWD 5000 | 1.25 acres |
Every version uses all wheel drive and what Mammotion calls Tri-Fusion positioning: an armored 360 degree LiDAR, NetRTK satellite corrections and dual camera AI vision. Mammotion claims it works in any weather, any terrain, day or night. The mower weighs 41 lbs.
Pricing explained
BestBots does not list prices for robots sold on Amazon, so check the current price on Amazon or Mammotion's store. The ownership costs around the mower:
- 4G service: 3 years free. Mammotion sells a 4G service plan on its store for after that.
- iNavi network service: lifetime free for certain models, per Mammotion, providing centimeter level positioning.
- Warranty: 3 years, plus 30 day returns and 24/7 support.
- Accessories: a mower cleaning stand (some Amazon bundles include it), a garage and replacement cutting discs are sold separately.
The 3 year 4G window is longer than Navimow's Connect+ (1 or 2 years on the X4). The Worx Landroid Vision Cloud includes lifetime RTK Cloud. See the Price Index for service fees we track.
Key features
Tri-Fusion navigation
Most wire free mowers pick one primary method: RTK satellites (accurate in the open, weak under trees), vision (good near structures, weak at night), or LiDAR (works at night and under canopy, no satellites). The Luba 3 runs all three and fuses them. The LiDAR is housed in what Mammotion calls armored protection with four times the durability, which matters on a machine that brushes shrubs daily.
80% slopes with all wheel drive
Mammotion rates the Luba 3 for 80% (38.6 degree) slopes. That is short of the Navimow X4's 84% but well above Husqvarna's 70% on the 435X AWD and 45% on the 440 iQ. All wheel drive helps on wet grass and in dips.
Runtime and efficiency
Up to 215 minutes per charge from an up to 15 Ah battery is the longest runtime published among the mowers in our guides. Amazon's 3000 listing quotes 5,400 sq ft per hour of mowing. EcoSleep mode lowers standby power, which Mammotion says saves up to 100 kWh a year.
Cut height options
The standard version cuts 1.0 to 2.7 in. The High version cuts 2.2 to 4.0 in. Pick by grass type: Bermuda and zoysia lawns kept short suit the standard version, while tall fescue and bluegrass kept at 3 in or more need the H version.
Obstacle and pet avoidance
The cameras detect obstacles and pets while mowing and route around them. Mammotion does not publish an obstacle type count for the Luba 3, unlike Navimow (200+) and Mova (300+).
App, 4G and live video
The built in 4G module handles remote scheduling, start and pause, real time status and live streaming from the mower's cameras, so it doubles as a roaming yard camera. Map editing is flexible, and the Luba 3 3000 Amazon listing advertises 30 zone management.
What users say
- Amazon: 4.2 from 186 ratings on the Luba 3 AWD 3000 listing as of October 2026.
- Mammotion's own store: shows 608 reviews on the Luba 3 page. We do not use brand hosted ratings in our scores.
- Trustpilot: Mammotion scores 3.6 from 2,864 reviews, with 65% five star and 21% one star. Praise centers on setup and on faster warranty claims. The complaints are specific: a firmware update that left strips of uncut grass, long troubleshooting loops with generic replies, and hub motor parts that had to go through service centers.
- App Store: the Mammotion app rates 2.9 from 348 ratings.
Read together: owners like the hardware, and the risk sits in software updates and after sale support.
Privacy and security
The Luba 3 has cameras, a cellular modem and live video streaming, so footage of your yard can leave your property when you use those features. Mammotion's product page does not publish camera retention or training terms, so check the app privacy policy and turn off live streaming if you do not need it.
On July 28, 2026 the FCC added foreign produced advanced robotic devices, a category that covers robotic mowers, to its Covered List. Per Consumer Reports, models that already had FCC authorization can still be sold and used, new models need conditional approval, and authorized devices can keep getting security updates until January 1, 2029.
Who it is for
- Yards up to 1.25 acres with a mix of open lawn, trees and structures.
- Slopes up to 80%.
- Owners who want the longest runtime and a mower that doubles as a yard camera.
- Buyers who want to order now: it is listed on Amazon and Mammotion's store.
Who should skip it
- Owners who value app quality and support response above hardware specs. Navimow's app and Trustpilot score are both stronger.
- Lawns over 1.25 acres. Look at Husqvarna's 440 iQ or Yarbo in our large yards guide.
- Anyone who needs more than 2.7 in of cut height and finds only the standard version in stock.
- People who want no cameras on their property; consider a LiDAR only mower or a wired Husqvarna.
Alternatives
- Segway Navimow X4: 84% slopes, 17 in cut up to 4 in high, best app ratings. Compare in Navimow X4 vs Luba 3.
- Worx Landroid Vision Cloud 4WD: lifetime free RTK Cloud and a Worx 20V battery.
- Ecovacs Goat A3000 LiDAR Pro: no RTK at all, plus a built in edge trimmer.
- Husqvarna Automower 435X AWD: the wired choice from the oldest brand in the category.
Verdict
The Luba 3 AWD has the most complete navigation stack you can buy in a consumer robot mower, and its 80% slope rating, 215 minute runtime, 3 year warranty and 3 years of free 4G add up to strong value on paper. It is our pick for buyers who can order today. The reasons for caution are all on the software and service side: a 2.9 star app and a Trustpilot profile where one in five reviewers had a bad experience. If you are comfortable troubleshooting firmware, buy it. If you want the calmest ownership experience, wait for the Navimow X4 to come back in stock or choose a Husqvarna.

Is the Mammotion Luba 3 AWD worth it?
For a hilly yard with trees and open lawn mixed together, yes. It is the only mower in our guides that runs LiDAR, network RTK and camera vision at the same time, so it keeps its position under canopy and in the open. The risks are support: Mammotion's Trustpilot score is 3.6 with 21% one star reviews, mostly about firmware and slow fixes.
What is the difference between Luba 3 and Luba 2?
The Luba 3 adds an armored 360 degree LiDAR to the RTK plus vision setup of the Luba 2, runs up to 215 minutes per charge, and is offered in 0.37, 0.75 and 1.25 acre sizes. The Luba 2 AWD stays on sale in 3000 and 5000 versions with UltraSense AI vision and RTK but no LiDAR.
Which Luba 3 size should I buy?
Match the rated area to your mowable lawn, not your lot: 1500 for up to 0.37 acre, 3000 for up to 0.75 acre and 5000 for up to 1.25 acres. If your lawn sits near a cutoff, size up, since slopes, obstacles and narrow passages reduce real coverage.
How high can the Luba 3 cut?
The standard version cuts 1.0 to 2.7 in. Mammotion also lists a High (H) version at 2.2 to 4.0 in. Tall fescue and other cool season grasses kept at 3.5 in or more need the H version.
Does the Luba 3 need an RTK antenna?
Mammotion sells it with NetRTK, which delivers corrections over the built in 4G connection, plus its iNavi network service. The 360 degree LiDAR and cameras keep it positioned where satellite signal is weak, so a separate base station is not the default setup.
Does the Luba 3 have a subscription?
It includes 3 years of free 4G service. Mammotion lists the iNavi network service as lifetime free for certain models. After the free 4G period, Mammotion sells a 4G service plan on its store.
How long does the Luba 3 battery last?
Mammotion lists up to 215 minutes per charge from an up to 15 Ah battery. EcoSleep mode, it says, saves up to 100 kWh per year when the mower is idle.
Is the Mammotion app good?
It is the weakest part of the package by public ratings: 2.9 on the App Store from 348 ratings. The app does offer remote scheduling, live video streaming from the mower's cameras and flexible map editing.
