What it is
The X4 is Segway Navimow's 2026 flagship robot lawn mower, listed on its US store in January 2026 above the X3 series (X330, X350, X390) and the smaller i2 and H2 lines. Navimow's own catalog shows the X4 as the top of the range, with two versions:
| Version | Rated lawn size | Connect+ included |
|---|---|---|
| X430 | 1.0 acre | 1 year |
| X450 | 1.5 acres | 2 years |
The mower drives on four wheels with dual suspension and steers with its front wheels, which Navimow calls Xero-Turn. The idea is to turn like a zero turn rider without dragging tires across the grass, a common cause of worn patches on cheaper robots. It finds its position with tri frequency network RTK fused with 360 degree visual SLAM, and it spots obstacles with an AI vision system Navimow calls VisionFence.
You do not lay a perimeter wire. On first run you tap Auto Mapping and the mower finds the lawn edges itself, then you adjust zones on a top down real scene map in the app.
Pricing explained
BestBots does not list prices for robot mowers, so check the current price at the Navimow store. What we can explain is the cost structure around the mower, because it matters over five years of ownership:
- Network RTK: included at no extra cost, and Navimow says the required cellular data is free too. Its FAQ describes the NRTK function as lifetime free.
- Connect+: the 4G service behind remote app control, out of bounds alerts and real time GPS tracking is free for 1 year on the X430 and 2 years on the X450, then renews annually at a fee listed on the product page.
- Warranty: up to 3 years, with a 30 day return policy on Navimow's store.
- Wear parts: blades and anti clogging cutting discs are sold separately, and a replacement 12.8 Ah battery fits the X390, X430 and X450.
Compare that with the Mammotion Luba 3, which includes 3 years of free 4G, and the Worx Landroid Vision Cloud, which includes lifetime free RTK Cloud. The Price Index at /price-index tracks software and service fees where they are published.
Key features
Four wheel drive and 84% slopes
Navimow rates the X4 for slopes up to 84% (40 degrees) and vertical obstacles up to 2.8 in, with a Traction Control System that cuts torque on slick ground to stop skidding. Among the mowers in our guides, only the Worx Landroid Vision Cloud 4WD matches the 84% figure, and the Mammotion Luba 3 is close at 80%. Husqvarna's 435X AWD stops at 70%.
Front wheel steering that spares the turf
Independent eccentric front wheel steering switches between car style Ackermann steering and pivoting in place depending on terrain. Navimow pitches this against the skid steering most wheeled robots use, which scrubs grass on every turn. It matters most on soft lawns and in the shoulder seasons.
17 inch dual disc cut
Two 180W motors spin two discs with 12 pivoting blades for a 17 in cutting width. Navimow says that covers 1.8 times more area per pass than its previous design, and travel speed reaches 2.6 ft/s. The published height range is 0.75 to 4 in in 1/4 in steps, with up to 8 cutting layers for tall grass. The 4 in top height suits fescue and other cool season grasses that should not be cut short in summer.
Antenna free network RTK plus vision
RTK positioning gives inch level accuracy, but traditional setups need a rooftop or pole antenna. The X4 pulls corrections over its built in 4G modem instead, so there is nothing to mount in normal coverage. Navimow fuses that with 360 degree VSLAM and visual inertial odometry, which helps under trees and near the house, where satellite signals fade. The box still includes a GNSS antenna and install kit for spots where you need it.
Obstacle detection
VisionFence uses AI vision to detect more than 200 obstacle types, from hoses, toys and garden lights to dogs, cats, rabbits and other animals. Navimow lists suspended objects such as hammocks and swings among them, which low mounted sensors on older robots miss.
Zones, scheduling and extras
The app supports up to 120 zones including no go areas, isolated zone mapping for disconnected lawns, a rain sensor, over the air updates and a Doodle mode with 29 lawn patterns. A quad layer security system keeps the mower locatable even when powered off or offline.
Charging
224W charging refills the battery in 90 minutes or less, and Navimow says one charge covers up to 9,600 sq ft. Its daily coverage claim is up to 1 acre in a day on a flat, obstacle free test lawn.
What users say
The X4 is too new and too scarce for a large product specific rating pool, and it is not on Amazon. Brand level signals are good:
- Trustpilot: Navimow scores 4.2 from 873 reviews, with 66% five star and 10% one star. Recurring praise covers quiet running, clean edges and simple setup. Complaints focus on slow service responses, mapping trouble on complex yards and a case of a mower disabled after a third party purchase.
- App Store: the Navimow app rates 4.7 from about 3,500 ratings, far ahead of the Mammotion app (2.9 from 348) and the Worx Landroid app (2.9 from 119).
Navimow's product page also links video reviews from lawn care YouTube channels posted between April and June 2026. We do not count those as ratings.
Privacy and security
The X4 carries cameras and a cellular modem, so it sends data off your property. Navimow's app activation runs over Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and 4G. The security features it publishes are protective of the owner: the mower stays locatable when powered off or offline, and it detects your phone nearby and disables security locks automatically. Navimow does not publish camera data retention terms on the product page, so read its app privacy policy before setup.
One regulatory note for 2026: on July 28, 2026 the FCC added foreign produced advanced robotic devices to its Covered List. Consumer Reports explains that models already authorized can still be sold and used, new models need conditional approval, and authorized devices can keep receiving security updates until January 1, 2029. Robotic lawn mowers fall inside the FCC's definition.
Who it is for
- Yards from about half an acre to 1.5 acres with real slopes, roots or ruts.
- Lawns with trees and shade where pure RTK mowers lose their fix.
- Owners who want no wire and no antenna, and an app with a strong rating.
- Cool season grass owners who need a 4 in cut height.
Who should skip it
- Anyone who needs a mower this month, since both versions were sold out on Navimow's store on October 19, 2026.
- Small yards under a quarter acre, where the i2 LiDAR or a Luba mini makes more sense.
- Properties over 1.5 acres, which need Husqvarna's 2 acre 440 iQ or the 6 acre Yarbo.
- Narrow side yards: the body is 24 in wide, so gates and passages need clearance.
Alternatives
- Mammotion Luba 3 AWD: adds 360 degree LiDAR to RTK and vision, 215 minutes of runtime, up to 1.25 acres. See Navimow X4 vs Luba 3.
- Worx Landroid Vision Cloud 4WD: matches the 84% slope rating with lifetime free RTK Cloud and a battery that runs Worx tools.
- Husqvarna Automower 435X AWD: the proven boundary wire choice for steep lawns with dealer support.
- Ecovacs Goat A3000 LiDAR Pro: dual LiDAR with a built in edge trimmer.
Our ranked lists: best robot lawn mowers, best wire free robot mowers and best for large yards.
Verdict
The Navimow X4 has the most complete published spec sheet for a hilly half acre to 1.5 acre yard: 84% slopes, turf safe steering, a 17 in cut that reaches 4 in high, and antenna free RTK with free data. Navimow's app and Trustpilot record are the best among the Chinese built wire free brands. Two things hold it back in October 2026. You may not be able to get one, and the Connect+ cellular features carry a renewal fee after the free period. If it is in stock and your yard fits, it is our pick. If not, the Mammotion Luba 3 is the closest match you can order today.

Is the Segway Navimow X4 worth it?
For a sloped or tree lined yard between half an acre and 1.5 acres, yes on paper. It has the highest published slope rating among mainstream wire free mowers (84%), a 17 in cut, and network RTK with no antenna. The catch in October 2026 is availability: both versions were sold out on Navimow's own store.
What is the difference between the Navimow X430 and X450?
Lawn size and the free Connect+ period. The X430 is rated for 1.0 acre with 1 year of Connect+ included, and the X450 for 1.5 acres with 2 years included. Navimow sells a 12.8 Ah battery that fits both, alongside the older X390.
Does the Navimow X4 need a perimeter wire or an antenna?
Neither. It uses network RTK, which pulls satellite corrections over its built in 4G connection, plus 360 degree vision. Navimow still ships a GNSS antenna and install kit in the box for weak signal spots, but its setup is designed to run antenna free with one tap auto mapping.
How steep a hill can the Navimow X4 mow?
Navimow rates it for slopes up to 84%, which is 40 degrees, and vertical obstacles up to 2.8 in. That is higher than the Mammotion Luba 3 (80%) and the Husqvarna 435X AWD (70%).
Is Network RTK free on the Navimow X4?
Yes. Navimow says network RTK access and the cellular data it needs are included at no extra cost, and its FAQ calls the NRTK service lifetime free. The separate Connect+ service, which covers remote app control, out of bounds alerts and GPS tracking, is free for 1 or 2 years and then renews annually.
How loud is the Navimow X4?
Navimow lists the noise level at under 68 dB(A), measured under lab no load conditions. That is quieter than a gas mower by a wide margin but louder than Husqvarna's 60 dB(A) rating for the 435X AWD.
Can the Navimow X4 mow in the rain?
It is rated IP66 dustproof and waterproof, and it has a rain sensor and weather adaptation that plan and send it home when conditions worsen. You can rinse the deck with a hose.
Where can I buy the Navimow X4?
Navimow sells it on navimow.com, where both versions were listed as Sold Out with a notify me option on October 19, 2026. We did not find the X4 on Amazon; Amazon carries the smaller Navimow i2 and i1 models.
