Pick Outreach if you want sequencing, calling, conversation intelligence, coaching and forecasting in one AI credit package, or need HIPAA. Pick Salesloft if you are a Salesforce shop that wants Clari's forecasting next to cadences, at a lower median price ($30,740 a year against $45,600, per Vendr). Both are quote only, so the contract decides as much as the product.

The meter question

Outreach adds a second meter: AI credits, with extra packs sold separately and no published rate per action. Salesloft is seat based, with add ons such as Conversations, Rhythm, Deals and Clari Forecast priced into the quote. Ask Outreach for a credit rate card and a usage estimate; ask Salesloft for a bundled price including Clari Forecast.

Winner on price: Salesloft, on the lower median and a single meter.

Models and features

Sequencing and daily workflow

Both are mature. Salesloft's Rhythm turns signals from your stack into a ranked daily to do list for each rep, a strength for managers who want consistent execution. Outreach's Core and Plus packages bundle multichannel sequences with AI Assist for accounts, emails and calls and engagement reporting with revenue attribution.

Conversation intelligence and coaching

Outreach is more specific in what it publishes: real time transcription, live coaching content cards, AI coach cards with automated scoring, sentiment and topic tracking. Salesloft's Conversation Intelligence pulls call content into frameworks such as MEDDPICC and flags reps for coaching.

Deals and forecasting

Salesloft has the edge since the merger: Clari Forecast is one of the best known forecasting tools, alongside Deals, Inspect and Revenue Cadences for pipeline reviews and forecast calls. Outreach's forecasting (AI forecast projection, scenario planner, rollups, territory management) is limited to Amplify Pro.

AI agents

Outreach: Meeting Prep Agent, research and deal agents, AI Assist across the cycle, deal health alerts, MCP server and client. Salesloft: AI email drafting, deal summaries, MEDDPICC extraction, stalled deal alerts, coaching recommendations, account chat and an MCP server.

Integrations

Outreach connects to Zoom, Teams, Google Meet and Webex for calls, Slack and a marketplace of CRM and data connectors. Salesloft shows Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics, Gmail, LinkedIn, ZoomInfo, Snowflake, Databricks and DocuSign.

Head to head scenarios

Enterprise that forecasts in Clari today

Winner: Salesloft. Clari Forecast is now part of the same vendor, so engagement and forecasting share data and one contract.

Regulated company that needs HIPAA

Winner: Outreach. It lists HIPAA, plus ISO 42001 for AI management. Salesloft's trust center lists SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001, ISO 27701 and GDPR.

Team that wants live coaching on calls

Winner: Outreach. Real time content cards and automated call scoring are documented in Essentials and Plus.

Mid market team of 25 reps on a budget

Winner: Salesloft. Lower median contract, Vendr reported per user prices you can benchmark, and volume discounts from 25 users.

Security conscious buyer after the 2025 breaches

Winner: Outreach. Salesloft's response to the Drift incident was public and thorough, but the incident exposed customers' connected data. Outreach has no comparable incident in the sources we reviewed.

Privacy

Outreach lists SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001, ISO 27701, ISO 42001, HIPAA and CSA STAR, with trust center documents shared through your account executive. Salesloft lists SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001, ISO 27701 and GDPR, publishes subprocessor changes, and documents the Drift incident: a threat actor ran reconnaissance between March and June 2025, accessed Drift's AWS environment, stole OAuth tokens for customers' integrations and used them to access data. Mandiant reported no ongoing compromise and only limited reconnaissance in the core Salesloft app. For either tool, scope OAuth permissions narrowly and ask whether call recordings train AI models.

Verdict

Outreach wins for teams that want the most complete single package, live coaching and the broadest compliance list, and that can manage an AI credit meter. Salesloft wins for Salesforce shops that want Clari forecasting and a lower price, if they are comfortable with its Drift history and negotiate renewal terms carefully. Both trail Gong on conversation intelligence and both need a data provider. Read the Outreach review, Salesloft review and Gong review.

Frequently asked questions

Is Outreach or Salesloft better?

Outreach is better for orgs that want sequencing, conversation intelligence, coaching and forecasting in one AI credit package, or that need HIPAA. Salesloft is better for Salesforce teams that want Clari's forecasting with engagement and a lower median price.

Is Salesloft cheaper than Outreach?

On Vendr's buyer data, yes. The median Salesloft contract is $30,740 a year against $45,600 for Outreach. Ranges overlap widely ($5,152 to $146,494 for Salesloft, $8,660 to $215,400 for Outreach), so get quotes for the same seat count and features.

Did Salesloft merge with Clari?

Yes. The merger was announced on August 7, 2025 and completed on December 3, 2025, with Steve Cox as CEO. Clari Forecast keeps its name inside the combined Salesloft platform.

Which has better AI agents?

Outreach publishes a clearer agent lineup by package, including a Meeting Prep Agent, live coaching cards and, on Pro, AI forecast projection, all metered by AI credits. Salesloft lists agents for email drafting, MEDDPICC deal summaries, stalled deal alerts, coaching and account chat, plus Clari's forecasting AI.

Was Outreach or Salesloft hacked?

Salesloft's Drift product was compromised in 2025: attackers stole OAuth tokens and used them to access data in customers' connected systems. Salesloft says Mandiant found only limited reconnaissance in the core Salesloft application. We found no comparable Outreach incident in the sources we reviewed.

Do Outreach and Salesloft include contact data?

Neither is a prospecting database. Outreach includes data enrichment, and Salesloft integrates with ZoomInfo and other providers. Most teams pair either one with ZoomInfo or Apollo.

What about Gong instead?

Gong leads on conversation intelligence and now sells Gong Engage for sequences. If coaching from calls matters more than complex sequencing, add Gong to the shortlist. See our [Gong review](/gong-review).
