Fact checked against each company's published pricing, documentation and verified user ratings. How we score

What it is
Gong started as conversation intelligence: it records sales calls and meetings, transcribes them and shows what top reps do differently. It has grown into what it calls a Revenue AI OS, built on a Revenue Graph of calls, emails, meetings and CRM data. Products include:
- Gong Foundation: call and meeting capture, analysis, Ask Anything, coaching and deals
- Gong Engage: sales engagement, with flows (sequences), AI Composer emails and Gong Enrich contact data
- Gong Forecast: AI forecasting from deal and conversation data
- Gong Enable: AI coaching and training
- Data Cloud: export Gong data to BI tools and warehouses
Gong says it has 5,000+ customers and claims 6,200+ G2 reviews. It cites Anthropic, which it says saw sellers save 10 hours a week and ramp time fall 46%, and Uber for Business. It lists itself as a Leader in the 2026 Gartner Magic Quadrant and a Forrester Wave leader. Those are vendor citations.
Pricing explained
Gong's pricing page gives the model, not the numbers:
- Licenses are priced per user
- A platform fee is charged based on the number of users supported
- Integrating your existing tech stack is free
- Pricing comes as a customized proposal by team size (1 to 50, 51 to 1,000, 1,001 to 9,999, 10,000+)
How plans are built
According to Gong's help center, you buy a Gong Foundation core license, then add apps: Enable Essentials, Forecast Essentials, Gong Forecast, Gong Engage and Data Cloud. Seats are assigned per person for the core and for each app. Anyone without a seat is a free Collaborator with limited access.
Customers who onboarded between 2022 and 2025 and have not renewed are on older plans (Core Professional, Gong Forecast, Gong Engage), and customers from before 2022 on Coaching, Professional or Enterprise. At renewal after March 2025, Gong moves you to the new model and provides enough seats to keep current functionality, but any seats added after renewal are billed separately. Purchased mid term seats are prorated to the end of the term.

Price math
- 15 rep team at $2,000 a seat: $30,000 a year before the platform fee.
- 50 reps at $1,800 with Engage at 30% more: about $117,000 a year.
- Compared with a note taker: Fathom and Avoma publish per seat prices that are a fraction of this; see best AI note takers and the AI Price Index.
Key features
Conversation capture and analysis
Every call, meeting and email captured, transcribed and analyzed. Ask Anything lets you query deals and accounts in plain English.
AI agents
Gong lists agents for automated follow ups, pipeline edits, enablement triggers and forecast corrections. AI Tracker spots which value propositions resonate with which personas, and AI Trainer builds practice scenarios from real customer calls.
Gong Engage
Flows (sequences), auto prioritized to dos, AI Composer emails written from conversation context, Gong Enrich to fill missing emails and phone numbers as contacts enter a flow, and Gong Anywhere for Salesforce so reps can trigger flows, email and call from the CRM. Engage integrates with ZoomInfo and LeadIQ for data, Nooks and Orum for power dialing, 6sense, G2, LinkedIn and Dealroom for intent, and Chili Piper and Calendly for scheduling.
Gong Forecast
Pipeline visibility, deal intelligence and AI forecasting built on actual conversation data rather than rep entered fields alone.
Coaching and enablement
Call libraries, scorecards, AI coaching and training scenarios for ramping new reps.
Data accuracy and deliverability
Gong's data is your own: recordings, emails and CRM records. Its accuracy depends on capture coverage, so make sure every rep's calendar and dialer are connected. For outbound, Gong Enrich or a partner such as ZoomInfo supplies contact data, and Engage sends from reps' mailboxes at human scale. Gong is not built for high volume cold email.
What users say
App Store: 3.9 from 113 ratings for the Gong mobile app.
Trustpilot: only 8 reviews (2.8), too few to rely on. The themes there match what you hear in the market: valuable insights and strong customer success staff, but a navigation heavy interface, slow loading, duplicate meeting records and sales reps who ask for a lot of detail before a demo.
Gong claims 6,200+ G2 reviews; G2 blocked our fetch, so we cannot confirm the rating.
Privacy and security
Gong publishes the most complete security list among the sales tools we track: SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001:2022, ISO 27017, ISO 27018, ISO 27701, ISO 42001:2023 for AI management, PCI DSS (SAQ D), the EU US Data Privacy Framework and the CSA STAR registry. It hosts on AWS.
On AI, Gong states that customer data is never used to train generative AI models and is never exposed to the public domain. By default it keeps data for up to three years or your contract length, whichever is shorter, deletes it 30 days after termination, and supports custom retention, redaction and consent notices in 70+ languages. Recording consent laws vary by state and country, so configure call announcements before rollout.
Who it is for
- Sales teams of 20+ reps that run most deals over video and phone
- Sales leaders who coach from real calls
- Revenue teams that want forecasting grounded in conversation data
- Security conscious buyers who need ISO 42001 and a no training commitment
Who should skip it
- Small teams that only need call notes; see Fathom or best AI note takers
- Teams that need a prospecting database; see ZoomInfo or Apollo
- High volume cold outbound; see Instantly
- Buyers who need a fixed, published price before a sales call
Alternatives
- Salesloft: conversation intelligence plus Cadence and Clari Forecast
- Outreach: Amplify Essentials is a conversation intelligence package with AI credits
- ZoomInfo: owns Chorus call data inside its GTM platform
- Fathom: a low cost AI note taker for small teams
Verdict
Gong remains the benchmark for turning sales conversations into coaching, deal risk and forecasts, and its security and no training commitments are the best in the category. You pay for it: per user licenses plus a platform fee, a $55,359 median and app add ons at 20 to 40% more per seat. Buy it if your team is big enough that better coaching and forecasting pay back a five figure contract. Smaller teams should start with a note taker and revisit Gong at 20 reps.

Manychat4.1Frequently asked questions
How much does Gong cost?
Gong does not publish prices. Its pricing page says licenses are priced per user and a platform fee scales with the number of users supported. Vendr reports a median Gong contract of $55,359 a year across 593 deals, with seat prices of about $1,600 to $2,400 a year for small teams, $1,400 to $2,200 for mid market and $1,200 to $1,800 at 100+ seats.
Does Gong have a platform fee?
Yes. Gong's pricing page states there is a platform fee based on the number of users supported, on top of per user licenses. Integrating your existing tech stack is free.
What is included in Gong Foundation?
Foundation is Gong's core license: capture and analysis of calls, meetings and emails, Ask Anything, coaching and deals. Apps add Gong Engage (sales engagement), Gong Forecast or Forecast Essentials, Enable Essentials (AI coaching) and Data Cloud (data export).
Is Gong worth it?
For teams of 20 or more reps that sell over video and coach from calls, it is the category leader. For a team of five, the platform fee and a typical $1,600 plus per seat each year make cheaper note takers such as Fathom or Avoma better value.
Does Gong train AI on my data?
Gong says customer data is never used to train generative AI models and is never shared with the public domain. By default it keeps data for up to three years or the length of your contract, whichever is shorter, and deletes it 30 days after the contract ends.
What AI agents does Gong have?
Gong lists agents for follow ups, pipeline edits, enablement triggers and forecast corrections, plus AI Tracker, which finds which value propositions land with which personas, and AI Trainer, which builds practice scenarios from real calls. AI Composer in Gong Engage drafts emails from call context.
Can Gong replace Outreach or Salesloft?
Gong Engage covers sequences (flows), AI written emails, contact enrichment and dialer integrations, so some teams consolidate onto Gong. Teams that rely on very complex sequencing or HIPAA requirements often keep Outreach. Compare in [Outreach vs Salesloft](/outreach-vs-salesloft).
What are Gong Collaborator seats?
Team members without an assigned seat are Collaborators. They have limited access, such as viewing shared calls, and Gong does not charge for them.
