Shark PowerDetect UV Reveal Review 2026: Specs, UV Stain Detect and Verdict
Shark's top robot uses UV light to find stains you cannot see. What PowerDetect means, what Shark does not publish, and who should buy it.
By , research by the BestBots team · Updated Oct 18, 2026
Fact checked against each company's published pricing, documentation and verified user ratings. How we score
The Shark PowerDetect UV Reveal is the robot to buy if invisible messes are the problem: UV Stain Detect lights up dried spills and pet accidents, HyperSonic mopping scrubs them and a heated NeverTouch Pro base handles emptying, refilling and mop washing. Shark publishes no Pa rating and two different runtimes, so it trails Roborock and Dreame on spec depth.

The UV Reveal is the most distinctive stain hunter here: UV Stain Detect finds dried spills and pet accidents your eyes miss. Shark does not publish suction in Pa, and its own page lists two different runtimes, so on raw specs it trails Roborock and Dreame.

What it is
The PowerDetect UV Reveal 2-in-1 Vacuum and Mop (RV3020XE) is the top robot in Shark's current lineup. The same robot ships in Luxe Collection colors such as Evergreen (RV3026XEUSGN). Below it sit the PowerDetect ThermaCharged (RV2930XE), the PowerDetect NeverTouch Pro (RV2820ZE), the Matrix Plus 2-in-1 and the vacuum only Matrix.
What it includes, per Shark:
- UV Stain Detect: UV light reveals invisible messes like sticky spills, sweat and dried pet accidents
- HyperSonic Mopping that picks up dry debris and scrubs stuck on messes; Wet Edge Detect extends the mop along edges and corners
- Eight PowerDetect technologies that adjust suction and cleaning to dirt, stains, edges and floor type
- NeuroNav AI navigation with RGB sensors, lasers and an UltraRange camera
- NeverStuck Charged, which lifts the robot over obstacles and high thresholds
- NeverTouch Pro base: self empties (60 day capacity), refills the robot and washes and dries the mop pad with thermal heat
- Anti Allergen Complete Seal that Shark says traps 99.97% of allergens
- SharkClean app plus Alexa and Google Assistant
- A two year limited warranty on Shark's store listing
Pricing explained
Shark sells the UV Reveal on Amazon and its own store. We do not list robot prices; check the current price before you buy.
Running costs:
- Base bags or bins. The base holds about 60 days.
- Mop pads. Shark sells multi surface pads and side brushes.
- Cleaning solution. The base refills the robot from its tank.
Key features
UV Stain Detect
The only robot in this guide that uses UV light to find stains. If you have pets with accidents or kids with sticky hands, this is the feature that justifies the model.
HyperSonic Mopping
Shark says the mop scrubs at high frequency to lift stuck on messes. It is a vibrating pad system, not a roller, so it does not rinse itself during the run; the base washes it.
PowerDetect
Dirt detect boosts suction where debris is concentrated, stain detect targets wet messes, edge detect extends the mop and floor detect switches behavior on carpet.
NeuroNav AI and NeverStuck
RGB sensors, lasers and the UltraRange camera map rooms and avoid obstacles. NeverStuck lets the robot lift itself over thresholds and obstacles. Shark says it lifts the mop twice as high as a Dreame X40 Ultra, though it does not give a measurement.
Heated base
The NeverTouch Pro base washes the pad with heat and dries it. Shark quotes bacteria removal of 99.99% in one place and 99.8% in its comparison table, both from third party lab tests on two bacteria types.
Runtime
Shark's comparison table lists up to 2 hours in dry mode on hard floors; the page also mentions up to 3 hours in eco mode. Use 2 hours for planning.
How it compares

That table comes from Shark's own comparison. If you do not need UV stain detection, the ThermaCharged has the same heated wash and a longer listed runtime.

Setup and upkeep
Place the NeverTouch Pro base on a hard floor against a wall, fill the clean water tank and download the SharkClean app to map rooms. Ongoing: empty the dirty water tank, refill clean water, empty the base about every 60 days and replace pads and side brushes as they wear.
What users say
The RV3020XE Amazon listing shows 4.2 out of 5 from 166 ratings in October 2026.
Privacy and security
The UV Reveal uses an UltraRange camera for navigation. Shark's product page does not list privacy certifications. Check the SharkClean app's privacy settings and Shark's privacy policy before setup.
Who it is for
- Pet homes with accidents on hard floors
- Families with sticky spills you cannot always see
- Existing Shark owners who like the SharkClean app
- Buyers who prefer a familiar US brand with retail support
Who should skip it
- Anyone comparing robots on suction numbers; Shark does not publish Pa
- Homes that want a self cleaning roller: eufy Omni E35, Narwal Flow 2 or Qrevo Curv 2 Flow
- Large homes that need long runtime: the eufy E35 lists up to 180 minutes
Alternatives
- eufy Omni E35: 35,000 Pa roller mop with AI See 3.0
- Roborock Saros 20: the spec leader
- Narwal Flow 2: heated track mop with a 120 day bag
- Shark Matrix Self-Empty: Shark's vacuum only budget robot
Verdict
The Shark PowerDetect UV Reveal does one thing no rival here does: it finds stains with UV light. That is a real benefit for pet and kid homes. As an all round flagship it publishes less than the competition, so buy it for the stain detection, not for raw specs.
