The best robot vacuum and mop combo for most homes is the eufy Omni E35: a HydroJet 2.0 roller that rinses itself as it mops, 35,000 Pa suction, 280+ object recognition and up to 180 minutes of runtime. For the best mopping system, pick the Narwal Flow 2. For a budget roller mop, pick the eufy Omni C28.
Our top picks
How to choose
A combo robot is a mop first purchase. The vacuum side is solved on every flagship here; the mop side is where they differ.
- Mop type. Roller or track mops (eufy, Narwal, Roborock Qrevo Curv 2 Flow, Ecovacs X12S, Roomba Max 875) rinse during the run. Spinning pads (Saros 20, Dreame X60) are washed at the dock.
- Rugs. If you have many rugs, look for mop removal (Saros 20, Dreame X60) or a high lift (15 mm on the Qrevo Curv 2 Flow) plus a cover (Ecovacs X12S).
- Stains. Dried kitchen spills: FocusJet (Ecovacs X12S), heated mist (Roomba Max 875) or hot water mopping (Narwal, Dreame). Invisible pet accidents: UV Stain Detect (Shark).
- Dock heat and drying. Hotter washes cut grease and odor. Hot air drying stops the musty smell.
- Water handling. Most docks use tanks you fill and empty. Plumbed options exist for Narwal and some Roborock models.

What it costs
We do not list robot prices; they are sold on Amazon and brand stores and change daily. The costs that matter after purchase:
- Cleaning solution. Most docks auto dose it. Ecovacs, iRobot, Roborock and eufy all sell their own.
- Rollers or pads. Dreame recommends replacing thermal pads every 1 to 3 months. Rollers last longer but cost more per unit.
- Dust bags. From 60 to 120 days on these docks; Ecovacs X12S is bagless.
- Water. Tanks need refilling and the dirty tank emptying every few runs unless you plumb the dock.
Roller mops vs spinning pads
Spinning pads press two round pads into the floor and return to the dock to wash. Between washes, the pads carry what they picked up. The upside is that a pad robot can leave its pads at the dock before carpet, so rugs never get damp.
Rollers and track mops are fed clean water and scraped continuously during the run. The mopping surface stays clean, which is why most 2026 launches use them. The downside is that the roller stays on board and lifts on carpet instead of detaching, so pile height and rug fringe still matter.
Our rule: mostly hard floors and daily mopping, choose a roller or track mop. Many rugs and weekly mopping, choose pads with auto removal.
Settings by floor type
Getting good results from a combo robot is mostly about settings.
- Sealed hardwood and laminate. Use the lowest water level that leaves no streaks, and run vacuum then mop rather than both at once on dusty days. Roller mops (eufy E35, Qrevo Curv 2 Flow, Narwal Flow 2) leave less residual water than pads; Ecovacs says its X12S microfiber roller leaves about 67% less.
- Tile and grout. Higher water and higher pressure. Robots with adjustable pressure (Saros 20 at 8 to 13 N) or heavy rollers (Roomba Max 875 at 18 N, eufy E35 at 16 N) do more here.
- Kitchens. Turn on hot water mopping where available (Narwal 140°F, Dreame 104°F, Roomba 140°F mist) and use spot features like FocusJet for dried spills.
- Rugs. Set rugs as no mop zones in the app even if the robot lifts or detaches its mop. It saves time and avoids damp fringe.
- Pet areas. Schedule a mop after the morning walk so paw prints are handled before they dry. Narwal and Roborock both offer pet care modes.
Empty the dirty water tank every few runs. Odor almost always comes from dirty water sitting in a warm dock, not from the mop itself.
The 2026 FCC rule
On July 28, 2026, the FCC added foreign produced advanced robotic devices to its Covered List. The category includes robot vacuums, robot vacuum and mop combos and robotic lawn mowers, defined as mobile devices over 4.4 lbs including the dock. Consumer Reports explains what it means for buyers:
- Robots you already own keep working.
- Retailers can keep selling models that were already FCC authorized.
- New models need conditional government approval before they can be sold.
- Authorized devices can keep getting updates that protect consumers until January 1, 2029.
Every mopping robot in this guide was already on sale before the rule. The practical risk is long term: hot water docks and roller mops rely on firmware, so ongoing updates matter more here than on a basic vacuum. Consumer Reports also points out that the approval process asks about supply chains, not about encryption or what happens to your data, so the rule is not a privacy rating. Check each brand's privacy settings yourself.
Red flags
- No hot air drying. Damp mops sitting in a dock smell. Nine of our ten picks list heated mop drying; Ecovacs describes airflow drying of the X12S dustbin and air path instead.
- Mop lift with no number. A few millimeters is not enough for medium pile. Check the spec.
- Vibrating or dragged pads sold as scrubbing. Budget robots like the Roborock Q7 M5+ and Dreame D20 Plus drag a pad. That is wiping, not scrubbing.
- Discontinued flagships. The eufy X10 Pro Omni, Ecovacs X8 Pro Omni and Narwal Freo Z Ultra no longer have live US product pages.
How we picked
We read the current lineups on each brand's US store, the top ranking robot mop guides for "best robot vacuum and mop combo" in October 2026, and each robot's spec page. We ranked on mop design, wash temperature, drying, carpet handling, dock automation and obstacle recognition, in that order, then suction. Ratings come from the exact Amazon listing we link. We do not test robots; we compare published specs. See how we score.
Frequently asked questions
Does the 2026 FCC ban affect robot vacuums?
Yes, for new models only. On July 28, 2026 the FCC added foreign produced advanced robotic devices, including robot vacuums, to its Covered List. Consumer Reports explains that already authorized models can still be sold and used, new models need conditional approval, and authorized devices can keep getting updates until January 1, 2029.
What is the best robot vacuum and mop combo?
The eufy Omni E35 for most homes: a self cleaning roller, 35,000 Pa suction, 280+ object recognition and up to 180 minutes runtime. For the best mopping alone, the Narwal Flow 2.
Do robot mops actually work?
For daily maintenance on hard floors, yes. Rollers and heated water handle footprints, dust film and light spills. They do not replace a deep scrub of grout or old stains, although features like FocusJet and heated mist help with dried spills.
Roller mop or spinning mop: which is better?
A roller or track mop is rinsed during the run, so it keeps a clean surface on the floor. Spinning pads are washed at the dock and can detach so carpets stay dry. Choose a roller for mostly hard floors, pads with auto removal for lots of rugs.
Will a robot mop wet my rugs?
Not on the robots here. Pads detach (Saros 20, Saros Z70, Dreame X60) or rollers lift (10 to 15 mm) when carpet is detected. Ecovacs also drops a cover between the roller and the carpet.
Do I need hot water mop washing?
It helps with grease and odor. Washes range from 140°F (eufy E35) to 212°F (Narwal, Dreame, Saros 20, Ecovacs X12S). Hot air drying matters as much, because damp mops smell.
Can a robot mop be hooked up to water?
Some can. Narwal sells a Flow 2 with an auto refill and drainage system, and Roborock lists refill and drainage variants for some models. They need a water line and drain near the dock.
Which robot vacuum and mop is best for pets?
The eufy Omni E35 or Roborock Saros 20 for hair, and the Shark UV Reveal if accidents are the problem. See our pet hair guide.
Why are there no prices?
These robots are sold on Amazon, where prices change daily. Each pick links to the exact product page so you can check the current price.
