What it is

Tatsu is a leveling and social engagement bot from Tatsu Works, used by more than 1,400,000 servers per its homepage. Members earn global XP and a server score for each message. Progress carries across every server that runs Tatsu, so a member's global profile, reputation and rankings follow them.

Around the leveling core sits a social game: customizable profile, rank and wallet cards with badges and backgrounds; Tatsugotchi, 100+ pets members feed, walk and level up; virtual housing with 1,000+ furniture items; and an economy of 2,000+ items, with new ones about every two weeks. Admins can open a server store that sells roles, custom items and accolades for points members earn. It is configured through a web dashboard.

Prices are from Tatsu's support page in October 2026 (listed in USD). Supporters also get monthly furniture and badges, reduced cooldowns, double credit transfer limits, priority feature requests and support, and a supporter role and channel in Tatsu's server. Tokens are sold separately from $1.00 for 300 to $99.99 for 37,000 with bonuses.

Server plans are what admins need. User plans boost one person's profile; they add no server features.

Cancelling is safe. Roles you set up keep working after you cancel; you just cannot add or edit roles beyond the free limits.

Against rivals: Arcane is $7 a month, MEE6 $11.99, Dyno from $5.99 and AmariBot sells premium as a one time payment. See the Price Index.

Key features

Leveling and leveled roles

XP and a customizable server score (name, emoji, earning rate and score range). Leveled roles are awarded automatically when members cross a score threshold. Free covers 10, Plus 20, Premium 40.

Rank and profile cards

Server rank cards show the next role, current rank and earned accolades, with custom backgrounds and server only accolades. Global profile cards show Discord wide levels and badges.

Leaderboards

Server and worldwide leaderboards, which give competitive members a reason to stay active.

Server store

Sell roles, custom items and accolades for points. Free servers get 50 item creator slots and 20 store listings.

Reaction and self roles

Reaction role messages and self assignable roles are included, so small servers may not need a separate role bot.

Pets, housing and economy

Tatsugotchi pets, home decorating, trading and gifting items, and daily credits. This is the part that sets Tatsu apart and the part serious servers may want to keep out of main chat.

Setup

  1. Invite Tatsu from tatsu.gg and open the dashboard.
  2. Rename your server score and set its emoji and earning rate.
  3. Add up to 10 leveled roles with score thresholds.
  4. Restrict commands to a bot channel so pet and economy commands do not flood chat.
  5. Set up the server store with roles or items members can buy.

What users say

Tatsu rates 4.56 on top.gg from 426 reviews, behind Arcane (4.67) but ahead of Dyno (4.38) and Carl-bot (3.14) among bots we compared. We report the score and count only. On the published facts, the strengths are global profiles and a $4.99 server premium; the limits to plan around are the 10 role free cap and the volume of economy and pet commands, which is why most admins restrict them to a bot channel.

Privacy and security

Tatsu reads message activity to award XP and stores global profile data across servers, so a member's activity on your server contributes to a public global ranking. Subscriptions are billed through Chargebee per the support page code. Give Tatsu only role management and message permissions, and keep its role below staff roles so leveled role rewards cannot grant moderator access.

Who it is for

  • Social, gaming and hangout servers that want leveling to feel like a game.
  • Communities that like profile cards, pets and an economy.
  • Admins who want cheap premium leveling at $4.99 a month.
  • Servers that want a store where members spend earned points on roles.

Who should skip it

  • Serious or professional communities that want clean leveling: Arcane or AmariBot.
  • Servers that need voice XP, which Tatsu's leveling page does not mention.
  • Admins who want one bot for moderation and leveling: MEE6.

Alternatives

Verdict

Tatsu is the leveling bot to pick when you want members hooked on progress: free leveled roles, profile cards that follow them everywhere, pets and a store, all for $0 or $4.99 a month. If your server values clean channels over games, Arcane or AmariBot are better fits.

How much is Tatsu Server Plus?

Server Plus is $4.99 a month per server and Server Premium is $8.99, per Tatsu's support page. Plus raises leveled roles to 20 and gives every member 15% extra XP and credits; Premium raises them to 40 with 25% extra.

What is Tatsu Supporter?

Supporter is a personal subscription, separate from server plans: $4.99, $10.99 (Supporter+) or $39.99 (Supporter++) a month. It boosts your own chat XP by 30% and credits by 15%, adds tokens from dailies, monthly furniture and badges, and lets you upload your own profile background.

Tatsu's FAQ says existing leveled roles and reaction roles keep working, but you cannot add or edit roles beyond the free limits until you resubscribe.

Does Tatsu have voice XP?

Tatsu's leveling page describes XP and server score earned per message and does not mention voice XP. If voice activity matters, AmariBot premium or Arcane premium cover voice leveling.

What are Tatsu pets and credits?

Tatsugotchi pets are 100+ collectible pets members feed, walk and level up. Credits are earned by chatting and games and spent in a shop of 2,000+ items, on housing furniture or in your server's own store, where you can sell roles and custom items.

Tatsu or MEE6 for leveling?

Tatsu for most servers: 10 free leveled roles, global profiles and a server store, with premium at $4.99 a month versus MEE6's $11.99. MEE6 if you also want its other modules in one bot.

Tatsu or Arcane?

Arcane gives 15 free role rewards and simpler, cleaner leveling for $7 a month premium. Tatsu adds games, pets and an economy. Pick Arcane for serious communities and Tatsu for social, casual servers.
