The short answer
The two products sit at different layers.
- Copilot Studio is a builder. Makers design agents and agent flows on Power Platform, with 1,500+ connectors, and publish them to Teams, Microsoft 365 Copilot, websites, WhatsApp or phone lines. Its natural companion for employees is Microsoft 365 Copilot.
- Gemini Enterprise is a ready made workplace assistant with a builder attached. Employees get one Gemini chat box, enterprise search, Deep Research and Google made agents, and can create no code agents of their own, in preview.
The fairest full stack comparison is Microsoft 365 Copilot plus Copilot Studio against Gemini Enterprise. The scenarios below pick a winner for each common job.

Worked examples
Every employee gets an assistant, 200 people. Microsoft 365 Copilot at $30 per user per month is $6,000 a month. Gemini Enterprise Standard at the reported launch price of $30 is the same $6,000, with 32,000 pooled queries a day and 6,000 GiB of storage. Google's current price will come from a quote, so negotiate from there.
One internal HR agent, no assistant licenses. 200 employees ask 20 questions a month, each a tenant graph grounded generative answer of 12 credits: 48,000 credits, $480 a month on Copilot Studio pay as you go. Gemini Enterprise has no equivalent agent only meter on seat editions; you would license users or use pay as you go.
A customer facing website agent. Copilot Studio at 6 credits per conversation and 2,000 conversations a month is about $120. Gemini Enterprise is not designed for anonymous customer traffic; Google sells that through its customer experience products instead.

Head to head scenarios
A Microsoft 365 company rolling out AI to every employee
Winner: Copilot Studio, paired with Microsoft 365 Copilot. Agents publish into Teams and Outlook where people already work, licensed users pay no credits for internal agents, and identity, DLP and audit stay in Entra and Purview. Gemini Enterprise works with Microsoft 365, but it adds a second assistant and a second governance plane.
A Google Workspace company
Winner: Gemini Enterprise. It grounds natively on Drive, Gmail and Docs, includes Deep Research and notebooks, and gives every employee a working assistant without anyone building agents first.
Research and analysis teams
Winner: Gemini Enterprise. Deep Research is included in every edition, at 3 runs per user per day on Standard and 10 on Plus, and Gemini Notebook Enterprise lets teams publish shared research notebooks. Copilot Studio can build a research agent, but you design it yourself and pay per credit.
Customer facing agents on the website or WhatsApp
Winner: Copilot Studio. It publishes to websites, mobile apps, WhatsApp, Facebook and phone lines, billed per message or per minute. Gemini Enterprise is licensed to employees, not to anonymous customers.
Searching across many SaaS tools at once
Winner: Gemini Enterprise. Permission aware search blends results across all connected sources from one box, and data stays where it lives. Copilot Studio has far more connectors for actions, but search across them is something you build agent by agent.
Price transparency before talking to sales
Winner: Copilot Studio. Microsoft publishes the credit price, pack price, pre purchase discounts and a credit rate for every feature. Google's current Gemini Enterprise pages publish quotas and pay as you go rates, but no seat price.
Privacy
- Copilot Studio runs under Microsoft's Product Terms and Data Protection Addendum, is covered by Microsoft's HIPAA BAA, lists ISO 27001 family certifications, HITRUST and PCI DSS, and supports customer managed keys and Customer Lockbox. Preview and cross geo models may process data outside your geography.
- Gemini Enterprise: Google states that prompts, outputs and tuning data are never used to train Google models or other customers' models, customer data is not sold or used for ads, and every answer runs under each user's existing permissions with an audit trail. Subscriptions can be pinned to US or EU multi regions.
Both are suitable for enterprise data. Microsoft has the deeper public sector story with GCC High and DoD clouds.
Verdict
Choose by your productivity suite first and the job second. Microsoft 365 companies should build on Copilot Studio: it is the more capable builder, it reaches customers as well as employees, and its prices are published down to the credit. Google Workspace companies, and mixed estates that mainly want an assistant, search and research for everyone, should choose Gemini Enterprise and start with the 30 day Plus trial. Few organizations need both; if you do, use Gemini Enterprise for employee search and research and Copilot Studio for custom agents in Teams and on customer channels.

Frequently asked questions
Is Gemini Enterprise better than Copilot Studio?
Gemini Enterprise is better as a ready made assistant, search and research tool for employees, especially in Google Workspace companies. Copilot Studio is better for building custom agents and flows, for customer facing agents, and for anything that must live inside Microsoft 365 and Teams.
Which is cheaper, Copilot Studio or Gemini Enterprise?
It depends on use. For a single internal agent, Copilot Studio pay as you go can cost a few hundred dollars a month with no seats. For giving every employee an assistant, compare Microsoft 365 Copilot at $30 per user per month with Gemini Enterprise seats, reported at $21 to $30 at launch. Get a Google quote, since current list prices are not published.
Does Gemini Enterprise work with Microsoft 365?
Yes. Google lists Outlook, Teams and OneDrive among its 100+ connectors, and answers follow each user's existing permissions. You can run Gemini Enterprise in a Microsoft 365 company, though Copilot Studio integrates more deeply.
Can Copilot Studio use Google Workspace data?
Through connectors, yes; the Power Platform catalog includes Google services. But grounding is designed around SharePoint, Dataverse and Microsoft Graph, so Google Drive content is a second class source compared with Gemini Enterprise.
Which has better models?
Copilot Studio lets makers pick GPT models or Claude Sonnet and Opus models per agent, plus Azure AI Foundry models. Gemini Enterprise routes automatically across Gemini models, with Claude Opus 5.5 and Sonnet 5.5 listed on its pay as you go edition and wider third party choice in early access.
Is there a free trial of either?
Gemini Enterprise offers the Plus edition free for 30 days. Copilot Studio has a free maker trial in which agents can be built and tested but not published.
Which is easier for non technical staff?
Gemini Enterprise. Employees get a working assistant, Deep Research and prebuilt agents on day one. Copilot Studio is a builder: someone has to design, test and publish each agent.
