Fact checked against each company's published pricing, documentation and verified user ratings. How we score
v0 is Vercel's AI agent for building Next.js apps and interfaces, and it is the best pick for polished React front ends that deploy straight to Vercel. Plus costs $30 per user a month with $30 of credits, metered per token by model. The tradeoffs: the priciest entry seat of the big app builders, a 7 message daily free cap, and weak reviews since its pricing change.

v0 is the strongest pick for polished React and Next.js front ends that ship straight to Vercel, with GitHub branches and pull requests handled for you. The tradeoffs: Plus costs $30 per user a month with credits metered per token by model, the free plan stops at 7 messages a day, and its Trustpilot score is 1.9 from 30 reviews, mostly about the price change and credit burn.

What it is
v0 started as a UI generator and is now a full stack agent. You prompt in plain language, upload a screenshot or wireframe, or import a Figma file, and v0 builds a working app with a live preview. Vercel describes it as a way to ship features, refine designs, update copy and create live prototypes from a prompt.
Its agent can search the web, inspect sites, run terminal commands in a sandbox, debug its own errors and call external tools through MCP servers. Output is always the Vercel house stack: Next.js, React, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS and shadcn/ui. That is a strength if your team already builds this way and a limit if it does not.
v0 is part of Vercel, the hosting company behind Next.js, and it publishes to Vercel's infrastructure with no extra setup.
Pricing explained
| Plan | Price | Credits | Key features |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | 7 messages a day | Vercel deployment, Design Mode, GitHub sync |
| Plus | $30 per user a month | $30 a month per user, plus $2 daily on login | Model access, credit top ups, team billing and collaboration |
| Business | $100 per user a month | $30 a month per user, plus $2 daily on login | Training opt out, priority support |
| Enterprise | Custom | Custom | No training guarantee, SAML SSO, role based access, priority performance, support SLAs |
Prices as listed on v0's pricing page in October 2026. Annual pricing is not listed. The older Premium plan ($20 a month with $20 of credits) is being sunsetted.
Model token prices, per million tokens:
| Model | Input | Cache write | Cache read | Output |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| v0 Mini | $0.20 | $0.25 | $0.02 | $1.20 |
| v0 Pro | $2 | $2.50 | $0.20 | $10 |
| v0 Max | $5 | $6.25 | $0.50 | $25 |
| v0 Max Fast | $10 | $12.50 | $1 | $50 |
Worked example. A message that sends 50,000 input tokens (your prompt plus project context) and gets 5,000 tokens back costs about $0.15 on v0 Pro at list rates, $0.38 on v0 Max and $0.016 on v0 Mini, before cache discounts. At those rates, Plus's $30 covers roughly 200 such v0 Pro messages a month, plus whatever the $2 daily login credits add. Real costs vary with context size, so check the usage dashboard after your first week.
Rollover. Monthly credits roll over and expire after 65 days. Purchased credits expire one year after purchase.
Business is mostly a privacy upgrade. It costs $70 more per user than Plus but includes the same $30 of credits. You pay for training opt out at the plan level and priority support.
Team math. Plus and Business plans can use a shared credit pool on top of each user's own monthly credits. Five people on Plus cost $150 a month; on Business, $500.
Cross category rates are in the Price Index.
Key features
Design Mode and Figma import
Design Mode is visual editing with a live preview, included on Free. v0 can convert Figma designs into working apps and build from screenshots, which is why designers and product teams favor it.
Design systems
Design Systems 2.0 lets you teach v0 your own components, so output matches your product rather than default shadcn/ui styling.
GitHub workflow
v0 creates working branches, commits changes and opens pull requests for you, and protects the main branch by design. For teams with code review, this is the cleanest Git flow of any app builder here.
One click Vercel deploys
Preview and production deployments on Vercel, with custom domains and environment variables. No hosting setup.
Databases and integrations
Docs cover Supabase, Neon, Upstash and Vercel Blob for data, Snowflake, external APIs, MCP integrations and AI models through the Vercel AI Gateway, fal, Deep Infra and Grok.
Model picker
Four v0 models with published token prices. Picking v0 Mini for simple edits and saving v0 Max for hard problems is the main way to control spend.
API and ChatGPT
A v0 Platform API with design mode, design systems and an MCP server, plus a ChatGPT integration tied to ChatGPT Plus or Pro billing.
What users say
On Trustpilot, v0 scores 1.9 from 30 reviews, a small sample. About 81% are 1 star and 3% are 5 star, and the profile is unclaimed.
Recurring complaints:
- Pricing change: users who liked v0 before the move to token metered credits say costs rose sharply.
- Credit burn: credits spent on failed attempts, and agent mode using many tokens.
- Quality: mistakes on basic tasks such as login pages, and projects breaking after manual edits.
- Billing and support: refund requests denied, charges after cancellation, and purchased credits unusable on the free plan.
Recurring praise: clean code, helpful documentation and a collaborative feel, though positive reviews are few.
Privacy and security
- Training: content is excluded from model training if you opt out in Vercel settings or are on Enterprise. Business lists training opt out; Enterprise adds a no training guarantee.
- Certifications: Vercel holds a SOC 2 Type 2 attestation, ISO 27001 certification and PCI DSS v4.0 attestations, supports HIPAA for enterprise customers, and is GDPR compliant with a DPA.
- Code handling: generated code is analyzed before execution in sandboxed environments. v0 keeps secrets server side, exposing only NEXT_PUBLIC_ variables to the browser, and can refactor code to move sensitive work to the server.
- Data access: you can download your prompts and content from your chats page, and request deletion from Vercel's privacy team.
Who it is for
- Designers and product managers turning Figma files or screenshots into working pages
- Teams already on Next.js and Vercel who want AI changes as pull requests
- Front end heavy apps where visual polish matters most
- Developers who want published per token prices and a model picker
Who should skip it
- You want the cheapest seat. Lovable and Bolt.new start at $25, and Lovable covers unlimited members.
- You need a native mobile app. Replit Agent builds with Expo.
- You want a lot of free building. Bolt.new gives 1M tokens a month free; v0 caps free use at 7 messages a day.
- You do not want Next.js. v0 always outputs the Vercel stack.
Alternatives
- Lovable: best overall for non developers, with a built in backend
- Bolt.new: the biggest free plan and $25 Pro
- Replit Agent: backend, mobile and flexible hosting
- Claude Code: edit a Next.js repo you own for $20 a month
Compare directly in Lovable vs v0 and Bolt.new vs v0.
Verdict
v0 is the best AI builder for front end quality and for teams that live on GitHub and Vercel: Figma import, design systems, pull requests and one click deploys are ahead of rivals. It is also the most expensive entry seat at $30 per user, the free plan is thin, and the token metered credits behind its weak reviews reward people who pick models carefully. Use v0 Mini for small changes, watch the dashboard, and choose Business only if the training opt out matters at the plan level. Non developers who want a full app on a budget should start with Lovable. Our full ranking is in best AI app builders.

Plus is $30 per user per month and includes $30 of monthly credits per user plus $2 of free daily credits on login. Business is $100 per user per month with the same credits plus training opt out and priority support. Enterprise is custom. The older Premium plan at $20 a month is being sunsetted.
How do v0 credits work?
Credits are a prepaid dollar balance. Each message spends credits based on the input and output tokens it uses and the model you pick. v0 Mini costs $0.20 per million input tokens and $1.20 per million output; v0 Pro $2 and $10; v0 Max $5 and $25; v0 Max Fast $10 and $50. Not if you opt out in Vercel settings or are on Enterprise, according to v0's FAQ. The Business plan lists training opt out as a feature, and Enterprise adds a no training guarantee.
Do I own the code v0 generates?
Yes, v0's FAQ says users keep ownership of generated code, while noting that output may be similar to other users' output or third party material, so you are responsible for checking it for commercial use.
Is v0 better than Lovable?
For a polished React front end on Vercel with GitHub pull requests, v0. For a non developer building a full app with a backend on a budget, Lovable: $25 for 100 credits shared by unlimited members versus $30 per v0 user, plus much stronger reviews.
