Siri costs nothing beyond a recent Apple device, but that device requirement is the real price if you are on an iPhone 14 or older. Alexa+ needs no new hardware at all if you use Alexa.com or the Alexa app. On Echo speakers and Echo Show displays it switched on for Prime members, and you can still roll back to the classic Alexa for now. Some Samsung and Bose devices also carry it.
The practical difference: Siri follows your Apple ID across your personal devices, while Alexa+ follows your household across shared devices. That is why so many homes end up using both, with Siri for personal tasks and Alexa+ for the kitchen, living room and family lists.
