Prices rise with the credit tier you pick on each plan. Make says annual prepayment is cheaper than monthly, and at the 10,000 credit tier the saving is 25%. The Start up Plan gives 50% off for businesses under 20 employees.

Usage allowances that scale with credits

For every 10,000 credits, Make includes 5 GB of data transfer, 10 MB of data storage and a webhook queue of 667 items. Doubling your credits doubles these allowances.

How credits are consumed

Fixed credit modules

Most apps use fixed credits: 1 operation equals 1 credit, whatever the file size or data volume. A scenario that watches a form, creates a CRM contact and sends an email uses 3 credits per run. Some advanced modules use more; certain Make AI Content Extractor modules use 2 or 10 credits per operation.

Dynamic credits for AI

AI modules and AI Agents use dynamic credits based on actual usage. On Make's AI Provider, which is available on all plans, token conversion depends on the model tier:

Model tier Input tokens per credit Output tokens per credit
Small and medium models 18,080 2,260
Large model (GPT-5 mini) 3,616 452
Premium models (for example GPT-5.6 Sol) 180 30

Make's help center also lists Anthropic Claude models at their own rates, from 90 input tokens per credit on Fable 5 to 180 on Opus models.

The spread is huge. A call with 2,000 input tokens and 500 output tokens costs about 0.3 credits of tokens on a small model, about 1.7 credits on GPT-5 mini, and about 28 credits on a premium model.

Your own AI provider

Connect your own OpenAI, Anthropic or other key and Make charges only the module's operation credits; you pay the provider for tokens directly. Automatic connections, such as Make AI Web Search, charge on tokens, operations and other factors combined.

Worked examples

Lead routing, 1,000 leads a month. Trigger, router, CRM create, Slack alert, email: about 4 credits per run with fixed modules, so 4,000 credits a month. Core at $16 billed monthly covers it with room to spare, or $12 billed yearly.

AI email triage, 3,000 emails a month on a small model. Each run reads the email (1), classifies it with a small model (under 1 credit of tokens for a short email), and files it in a helpdesk (1): roughly 3 credits, so about 9,000 credits a month. Core at 10,000 credits still fits.

The same triage on a premium model. If each classification sends 2,000 input and 500 output tokens to a premium model, the AI step alone is about 28 credits. 3,000 emails then use about 90,000 credits, and the bill moves from $16 to a much higher credit tier plus extra credits at $1.60 per 1,000 on Core. The fix is to use a small model for classification or bring your own key.

An AI agent answering internal questions. Agent chats also use credits. Budget by model: a small model agent with a few tool calls per answer uses a handful of credits; a premium model agent can use dozens per answer.

Hidden costs

  • Model choice. The difference between a small and a premium model is roughly 100 times in credits per token.
  • Extra credits expire. Bought credits expire after one month on monthly plans, or at the end of the year on annual Pro and Teams plans.
  • Polling triggers. Scenarios that check for new data on a tight schedule run often. Use webhooks where an app supports them.
  • Teams for collaboration. Roles and shared templates start on Teams, which costs over three times Core.
  • Enterprise for custom functions. Writing your own JavaScript functions needs Enterprise.

Annual vs monthly

At 10,000 credits, yearly billing saves $4 a month on Core, $7 on Pro and $13 on Teams. Annual Pro and Teams plans also let extra credits last until the end of the year instead of one month, which is worth more than the discount if your usage is seasonal.

How Make compares on price

Platform Entry paid plan Units included
Make $16 a month ($12 yearly) 10,000 credits
Zapier $29.99 a month ($19.99 yearly) 750 tasks
n8n €24 a month (about $27) 2,500 executions, unlimited steps per execution
Relevance AI $29 a month ($19 yearly) 2,500 Actions
Gumloop $37 a month 20,000 credits
Lindy $49.99 a month 5,000 credits

Make is the cheapest hosted option per action. n8n can win for very long workflows because it counts a whole run as one execution, and self hosted n8n has no subscription at all. See n8n vs Make, Make vs Zapier and the AI Price Index.

Which plan to pick

  • Free: testing, or a few scenarios that can run every 15 minutes.
  • Core: most small businesses; unlimited active scenarios and minute level scheduling.
  • Pro: you need priority execution, custom variables or full text log search for debugging.
  • Teams: several builders sharing scenarios with roles.
  • Enterprise: custom functions, enterprise apps, 24/7 support or overage protection.

Frequently asked questions

How much does Make cost?

Make Free costs $0 for 1,000 credits a month. At 10,000 credits, Core is $16 a month billed monthly or $12 billed yearly, Pro is $28 or $21, and Teams is $51 or $38. Enterprise is quote only. Higher credit tiers raise the price on each plan.

What is a Make credit?

A credit is Make's billing unit. Each action a scenario performs uses credits, and most standard app modules use exactly 1 credit per operation regardless of data size. AI and some advanced modules use dynamic credits based on tokens, file size, pages or processing time.

What is the difference between operations and credits in Make?

Operations count what your scenarios did; credits count what you spend. For most apps 1 operation equals 1 credit. AI modules, AI agents and some extractor modules can use several credits for a single operation.

How many credits does AI use in Make?

On Make's AI Provider, small and medium models use 1 credit per 18,080 input tokens and per 2,260 output tokens. A large model such as GPT-5 mini uses 1 credit per 3,616 input or 452 output tokens. Premium models such as GPT-5.6 Sol use 1 credit per 180 input or 30 output tokens, so one long premium call can use 25 or more credits.

Does Make have a free plan?

Yes. Make Free includes 1,000 credits a month, the visual builder, 3,500+ apps and AI Agents, with a 15 minute minimum interval between scheduled runs.

What happens if I run out of Make credits?

You can upgrade, buy extra credits in bundles of 1,000 or 10,000 at your plan's fixed rate, or turn on auto purchase so scenarios keep running. Extra credits expire after one month on monthly plans, or at the end of the year on annual Pro and Teams plans.

Is Make cheaper than Zapier?

Yes, by a wide margin per unit. Make Core is $16 a month for 10,000 credits; Zapier Professional is $29.99 a month for 750 tasks. That works out to about 0.16 cents per Make credit against about 4 cents per Zapier task, and a standard action uses 1 of either, so the same workflow costs a small fraction on Make.

Does Make offer a startup discount?

Yes. Make's pricing page lists a Start up Plan with 50% off for businesses under 20 employees.
