Copy.ai Review 2026: Pricing, Features and Verdict
The AI copywriter that became a go to market platform, judged on its published plans, credit rules, support record and what it costs to scale.

Fact checked against each company's published pricing, documentation and verified user ratings. How we score
Copy.ai is worth it for one buyer: a small team that wants unlimited AI chat across OpenAI, Anthropic and Gemini models for $29 per month split across 5 seats. Beyond that, it is a go to market automation platform priced from $1,000 per month, with no free plan and a 1.8 Trustpilot score that signals real support risk.

Copy.ai's $29 Chat plan is one of the cheapest ways to give five people unlimited AI writing with OpenAI, Anthropic and Gemini models. Above that it is no longer a writing tool for individuals: workflow plans start at $1,000 per month billed annually, and a 1.8 Trustpilot score with support and billing complaints is a real warning.

What it is
Copy.ai launched as an AI copywriting tool and now calls itself "the first AI native GTM platform." The product has two halves:
- Chat, a multi model AI chat for writing, research and brainstorming, with projects, Brand Voice and Infobase (a shared store of company facts, products and messaging).
- Workflows, chains of AI actions that automate sales and marketing processes such as researching accounts, writing outbound emails, repurposing content or producing briefs, plus a Content Agent Studio for training content agents.
Copy.ai says 17 million users have signed up and names customers including Siemens, Gong, ServiceNow, Lenovo and Juniper Networks. Its help center is hosted on support.fullcast.com and its support email uses a fullcast.com address, so Copy.ai now operates alongside Fullcast, a revenue operations company. Neither site states the terms of that relationship on the pages we read.
Pricing explained
Copy.ai's pricing page lists five plans in October 2026.
| Plan | Price | Seats | Words in Chat | Workflow credits |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Chat | $29 monthly, or $24 per month billed annually ($288) | 5 | Unlimited | Not listed |
| Growth | $1,000 per month, billed annually ($12,000) | 75 | Unlimited | 20,000 per month |
| Expansion | $2,000 per month, billed annually ($24,000) | 150 | Unlimited | 45,000 per month |
| Scale | $3,000 per month, billed annually ($36,000) | 200 | Unlimited | 75,000 per month |
| Enterprise | Custom | Custom | Unlimited | Custom |
What the Chat plan costs per person. $29 across 5 seats is $5.80 per person per month, or $4.80 on annual billing. That is far below a $20 per person ChatGPT or Claude seat, though each Copy.ai seat shares one workspace and you get Copy.ai's interface on top of the models rather than each vendor's own app.
The jump to workflows. There is no mid tier on the current pricing page. An older help center article (marked stale) lists an Agents plan at $249 per month with 10 seats and 10,000 credits, but it does not appear on the live pricing page, so assume the step from Chat is to Growth at $12,000 a year.
How credits work. A credit is a unit of compute. Its value depends on the task: generating text, web search, scanning a site or calling the API. More steps and more content cost more credits, and "Platinum" actions cost more than standard ones. Credits are pooled across the workspace, reset monthly and do not roll over. Building and testing a workflow does not spend credits, and each new account gets 200 bonus credits that never expire. Copy.ai does not publish a price per credit or a typical cost per run, so you cannot estimate a monthly bill in advance. Usage based top ups are available.
Billing rules to know. Upgrades take effect immediately with a prorated charge. Downgrades apply at the end of the billing period. You cannot switch from annual to monthly billing without contacting support. Cancel and you lose access to your projects until you resubscribe.
Key features
Multi model Chat
The Chat plan includes models from OpenAI, Anthropic and Gemini with unlimited words and unlimited Chat projects. For a team that wants to compare outputs across providers without paying three subscriptions, this is the main draw.
Brand Voice and Infobase
Brand Voice stores your tone and style so outputs stay consistent, and Infobase holds reusable company information such as product details, positioning and case studies. Both feed Chat and Workflows. The pricing page does not cap the number of brand voices, unlike Jasper Pro's limit of 2.
Workflows and Content Agent Studio
Workflows chain actions like extract data from text, search the web, rewrite with brand voice and generate copy, then run them on a list of inputs. Content Agent Studio lets teams train content agents on their own standards. Enterprise adds guided implementation, an API, 20+ tech integrations and unlimited custom workflows.
Languages
The help center says Chat and Workflows work in any language you ask for in the prompt. There is no published language list or quality guarantee by language.
What is missing
The pricing page lists no plagiarism checker, no browser extension and no SEO content score. Teams that need those should look at Jasper (Copyscape add on, browser extension) or Surfer.
What users say
Copy.ai scores 1.8 out of 5 on Trustpilot from 196 reviews: 63% five star, but 20% one star, which pulls the TrustScore down. Trustpilot notes the company has not replied to negative reviews.
Recurring complaints: support emails and forms that go unanswered for months, charges that continued after cancellation, saved prompts, projects and Infobase data lost after a product update, and output quality that some long time users say declined as the product grew more complex. Positive reviews praise speed and ease for short marketing copy.
This is the weakest user reputation among the writing tools we compared. If you buy, start monthly on Chat, keep records of any cancellation, and export anything important.
Privacy and security
Copy.ai's homepage shows AICPA SOC 2 and GDPR badges and lists SSO. Enterprise adds "enterprise security" and a dedicated support team. The pages we read do not state whether customer data is used for model training or how long it is retained, so ask sales for the data processing terms before putting customer data into workflows. Jasper, by contrast, states in writing that customer data never trains third party models.
Who it is for
- Small teams of up to 5 who want unlimited multi model chat for $29 per month.
- Revenue operations and marketing ops teams with budget to automate prospecting, enrichment and content repurposing at scale.
- Companies standardizing on one AI interface across OpenAI, Anthropic and Gemini.
Who should skip it
- Solo writers. You pay for 5 seats you will not use, and Claude Pro or ChatGPT Plus at $20 are the vendors' own apps with more features.
- Mid size teams that want workflows without a $12,000 commitment. Jasper Pro at $59 per seat on annual billing is cheaper for a team of 5 to 15.
- Anyone who needs plagiarism checks or SEO scoring. Use Grammarly, QuillBot or Surfer.
- Buyers who need reliable support. The Trustpilot record is a red flag.
Alternatives
- Jasper: stronger brand controls and SOC 2 with a no training pledge; $59 per seat billed annually.
- Writesonic: AI search tracking and articles from $79 per month billed annually.
- Claude and ChatGPT: $20 per person, the vendors' own apps.
- Rytr: unlimited characters for $9 per month for a single writer.
See Jasper vs Copy.ai for the head to head.
Verdict
Copy.ai's $29 Chat plan is a real bargain for a team of five that wants unlimited chat across three model providers. Its workflow tiers serve a different buyer, a go to market team with a five figure annual budget, and the absence of published credit costs makes that spend hard to forecast.
The deciding factor for most readers is trust. A 1.8 Trustpilot score with repeated reports of unanswered support, continued charges and lost data is hard to ignore. Use the Chat plan on monthly billing if the price appeals, and look at Jasper or Writesonic before you sign an annual workflow contract.

Is Copy.ai worth it?
The $29 Chat plan is good value for a small team: 5 seats, unlimited words and models from OpenAI, Anthropic and Gemini. Weigh the 1.8 Trustpilot score before committing to a year.
Is Copy.ai free?

What are Copy.ai workflow credits?
A credit is a unit of compute for workflow steps such as generating text, searching the web or scanning a site. Cost per run depends on how many steps and how much content the workflow produces. Not on your own. The help center says customers cannot switch from yearly to monthly payments and must contact support. If you cancel, you lose access to projects until you resubscribe.
