Fact checked against each company's published pricing, documentation and verified user ratings. How we score
Cursor now costs $8 a month for Plus (Grok and Composer models only), $30 for Premium, $100 for Super and $200 for Ultra, or $80 to $2,000 a year on annual billing. The catch is that Claude, GPT and Gemini are never part of the included pool: on Premium and up you pay their API list price on top, so your real bill depends on which models you use.

What each limit means in practice
The weekly pool. Each paid plan gets one pool of usage for Cursor models, refreshed weekly. It covers Grok 4.7, Grok 4.6, Grok 4.5 and Composer 2.5 and is shared with Grok Chat, Imagine, Voice and Grok Bot. If you also use Grok heavily for chat or images, you have less left for coding. Your remaining usage and reset date show in editor settings and at grok.com/dashboard.
Multiples, not numbers. Cursor states each tier as a multiple of Plus (4x, 15x, 50x) but does not publish the Plus pool as a token or request count.
Plus is fixed. Fast mode off, medium effort, and a 256k context window on Grok 4.7. No Auto, no Cloud Agents, no Bugbot, no bring your own key.
Annual billing saves two months on every tier: Premium works out to $25 a month, Super about $83.33 and Ultra about $166.67.
Rates beyond the pool
When the weekly pool runs out, Cursor model usage continues from prepaid credit at these rates per million tokens:
| Model | Input | Output |
|---|---|---|
| Grok 4.7 | $2 | $6 |
| Grok 4.7 Fast | $4 | $12 |
| Grok 4.7 500k context | $4 | $12 |
| Composer 2.5 | $0.50 | $2.50 |
| Composer 2.5 Fast | $3 | $15 |
What third party models cost
On Premium and above, these bill from the first request at API list price per million tokens:
| Model | Input | Output |
|---|---|---|
| Claude Haiku 5.5 | $0.10 | $0.50 |
| Claude Sonnet 5.5 | $2 | $10 |
| Claude Opus 5.5 | $4 | $20 |
| Claude Fable 5.1 | $10 | $50 |
| GPT 5.6 Luna | $0.20 | $1.20 |
| GPT 5.6 Sol | $4 | $20 |
| Gemini 3.8 Flash | $0.75 | $3.75 |
| Gemini 3.1 Pro | $2 | $12 |
| Gemini 4 Argon | $2 | $10 |
Hidden costs and fine print
- Cursor Token Rate: on Teams and Enterprise, $0.25 per million tokens on every third party request, including bring your own key. Individual plans do not pay it.
- Data residency: opting into regional data residency adds 10% to model prices.
- Prepaid credit: third party usage draws from credit you top up, manually or with Auto Top up. Set a monthly additional usage limit so a long agent run cannot drain it.
- Teams cannot buy Plus seats; the minimum team seat is $30.
- Tax is extra, and you must cancel at least 24 hours before renewal.
Worked examples
Grok only user. Plus annual: $80 a year. Good for light use of Cursor's own models.
Premium with Claude Sonnet. $30 plus 20 million input and 2 million output tokens on Sonnet 5.5 ($40 plus $20): $90 a month.
Premium with Claude Opus. Same volume on Opus 5.5 ($80 plus $40): $150 a month.
Team of 10 on Premium seats, mostly Sonnet. Seats $300 a month. If the team uses 200 million input and 20 million output tokens on Sonnet 5.5: $400 plus $200 at list price, plus 220 times $0.25 ($55) Token Rate: $955 a month.
Daily agent user on Super. $100 a month (or $1,000 a year) for 15x the Plus pool, plus any third party usage.
