Prices are per user per month, from otter.ai/pricing in October 2026.

What else each tier adds. Pro adds unlimited storage, Salesforce, HubSpot and Zapier, and custom vocabulary of 100 names and 100 terms. Business adds activity logs, usage analytics and larger team vocabularies (800 names and 800 terms). Enterprise adds SSO, SCIM, domain capture, the Otter API and webhooks, a HIPAA add on and a customer success program.

What the limits mean in practice

300 minutes on Basic is 5 hours a month, about one hour long meeting a week. The 30 minute cap per conversation matters more: most meetings run 45 to 60 minutes, so Basic cuts off the second half.

1,200 minutes on Pro is 20 hours a month. Someone with two one hour meetings every working day (about 40 hours a month) will run out halfway through the month.

90 minutes per meeting on Pro stops workshops, board meetings and long interviews. Business allows 4 hours.

Concurrent meetings decide whether Otter can record two calls at the same time, for example when you are double booked or sending the agent to a meeting you cannot attend.

AI chat queries are per user per month. 50 on Pro is enough for occasional questions, not for using chat as your main way to review meetings.

Annual vs monthly

Plan Monthly billing, 12 months Annual billing You save
Pro $203.88 $99.96 $103.92 (51%)
Business $360 $239.88 $120.12 (33%)

The annual Pro discount is the deepest in the category. If you are sure you will use Otter for a year, there is no reason to pay monthly.

Worked examples

Student. The .edu discount makes Pro $79.99 a year ($6.67 a month), or $13.59 monthly. That is the cheapest serious transcription plan available to students among the major tools.

Solo consultant, 25 hours of meetings a month. Pro's 1,200 minutes (20 hours) is not enough, so the real choice is Business at $239.88 a year. Fireflies Pro at $120 a year has no transcription cap, and Fathom's free plan has none either.

Team of 10, mostly short meetings. Pro annual is $999.60 a year. Fireflies Pro annual is $1,200; Fathom Team annual is $1,800.

Team of 10 that needs no caps. Business annual is $2,398.80 a year. Fireflies Business annual is $2,280, with conversation intelligence included.

Hidden costs and catches

  • HIPAA is not self serve. It is an Enterprise add on with no published price.
  • API access is Enterprise only. If you want transcripts in your own systems on Pro, you are limited to Zapier.
  • Languages. Six transcription languages on every plan: English, Spanish, French, German, Japanese and Chinese. Paying more does not add languages.
  • Renewals. Trustpilot reviewers frequently report charges they did not expect at renewal or after a trial. Set a reminder before the renewal date.

Is Otter worth the price

At $8.33 a month on annual billing, Otter Pro is fair value for English speaking users who want a live transcript and stay under 20 hours of meetings a month. Above that, Business at $19.99 costs about double Fireflies Pro, and Fathom gives unlimited recordings for free.
