What each tier adds. Free already includes Zoom, Meet and Teams capture, transcription in 100+ languages, live notes, AskFred, file uploads, the desktop and mobile apps, the Chrome extension and API access. Pro adds video recording, downloads, the personal and email assistants, AI skills, voice agents, action item and task management and unlimited integrations. Business adds multi language mode, conversation intelligence (sentiment, talk time, topic trackers), team analytics, public meeting access and user groups. Enterprise adds a rules engine, SSO and SCIM, audit logs, HIPAA, private storage, custom data retention, a transcript and summary only mode and a dedicated account manager.
What the limits mean in practice
Unlimited transcription on Free has a condition. Fireflies' help center says unlimited free transcription applies when calendar auto join is on. If you only invite the bot manually, the free allowance is much smaller.
400 minutes of storage per team is under 7 hours shared by everyone on a free team. It is a trial of the archive, not a long term home for it.
8,000 minutes per seat on Pro is about 133 hours of meetings per person. A person with 20 hours of meetings a month fills it in under 7 months, after which older meetings need deleting or an upgrade to Business for unlimited storage.
AI credits cover the extras. Standard summaries are unlimited on paid plans; credits are for heavier AI use. At 20 credits a month, Pro users who lean on AskFred will feel the limit first.
Recording limit. Meetings over 2 hours on Free or Pro stop recording at the limit. Workshop and board meeting heavy teams need Business (3 hours) or Enterprise (4 hours).
API rate limits. 30 calls a minute and 500 a day on Free; 60 a minute and 5,000 a day on Pro; pooled per paid seat on Business and Enterprise.

Worked examples
Solo user who wants unlimited summaries. Pro annual at $120 a year. On Fathom you get unlimited summaries free, but action items and the AI assistant need Premium at $192 a year.
Sales team of 10 that wants CRM sync and call analytics. Business annual at $2,280 a year includes Salesforce, HubSpot and Pipedrive integrations plus conversation intelligence. Fathom Business with CRM field sync is $3,000 a year for 10 users.
Healthcare practice of 5. HIPAA needs Enterprise: $2,340 a year. Read AI Enterprise+ with HIPAA is $1,785 a year for its 5 seat minimum.
Hidden costs and catches
- Free plan auto join. Unlimited free transcription depends on letting the bot auto join your calendar meetings.
- Storage on Pro. 8,000 minutes per seat is generous but finite; Business is the only way to unlimited storage.
- Enterprise is annual only at $39 a seat.
- The bot joins by default. The Chrome extension can record without the bot, which avoids the "who invited this?" moment on external calls.
