Fireflies.ai Review 2026: Pricing, Features and Verdict

What it is

Fireflies is an AI meeting assistant that joins Zoom, Google Meet and Microsoft Teams calls as a bot (named Fred), records them, transcribes them in 100+ languages and writes summaries and action items. It also captures through a desktop app, a mobile app and a Chrome extension, and accepts uploaded audio and video files.

Beyond notes, Fireflies sells itself as a meeting data platform: AskFred, an AI assistant you can question about your calls; AI Skills; conversation intelligence and team analytics; and an API. Its homepage says it is used across 1 million+ companies and lists SOC 2 Type II, GDPR and HIPAA.

The annual discount is 44% on Pro. $18 drops to $10. For a 10 person team that is $2,160 a year on monthly billing against $1,200 on annual.

The free plan has three conditions. Unlimited free transcription applies to users who signed up on or after September 1, 2026, and only when the Auto join calendar meetings toggle is on, according to the Fireflies help center. If you set Fireflies to join only when you invite it, you get 3 meeting transcriptions. And storage is 400 minutes per team, so the archive fills quickly.

AI credits are separate from transcription. Summaries, action items and analytics draw on a monthly AI credit balance: 20 on Free and Pro, 30 on Business, 50 on Enterprise. Unlimited transcription does not mean unlimited AI.

Storage on Pro is generous but finite. 8,000 minutes per seat is about 133 hours. Someone on 30 hours of calls a month fills it in about four and a half months, then needs to delete old recordings or move to Business.

Features

Capture. Bot meetings on Zoom, Google Meet and Teams, plus the desktop app, mobile app and Chrome extension. File uploads work on every plan. Video capture is 720p on Pro and Business and 1080p on Enterprise.

Transcription. 100+ languages on every plan, with auto language detection between meetings and a multi language mode on Business for meetings that mix languages.

Summaries and AskFred. Limited summaries on Free, unlimited from Pro, plus AskFred for questions about calls. Pro adds a personal assistant, an email assistant, AI Skills, voice agents and an action item manager.

Integrations. Unlimited integrations from Pro. Fireflies lists Salesforce, HubSpot, Pipedrive, Slack, Notion, Asana and Zapier among them, and API access is listed on the free plan.

Team features. Business adds conversation intelligence, team analytics for admins, public meeting access and user groups.

Security. SOC 2 Type II and GDPR listed; HIPAA, SSO, SCIM, private storage, custom data retention and a transcript and summary only mode on Enterprise.

Setup

You sign up, connect a calendar and choose when Fred joins. For the free plan to transcribe without a cap you must leave auto join on, which means Fred will join every calendar meeting it can unless you set rules. Review that setting before connecting a calendar with external meetings. Integrations connect from the app, and CRM sync requires Pro or above.

• People who dislike bots. Fireflies joins as a bot by default. Granola and Krisp capture from your device.
• Healthcare teams on a small budget. HIPAA requires Enterprise at $39 a seat on annual billing.

Otter is the only big name cheaper per seat, and it caps Pro at 1,200 minutes a month and six languages. Every tool that matches Fireflies on CRM sync and has no minute cap costs more. That is the case for Fireflies in one table.

Where it falls short

The free plan is the weak point: 400 minutes of storage per team, limited summaries and an auto join requirement. The AI credit system adds a layer of metering that rivals like Fathom and tl;dv do not have on paid plans. And because Fireflies is bot first, guests will see it in the participant list unless you capture from the desktop or mobile app.
