What the limits mean in practice
xAI publishes usage as multiples of Plus, not message counts. Our record notes the usage pool refreshes weekly and is shared with Cursor, so coding in Cursor and chatting in Grok spend the same allowance.
The multiples give a clear sense of scale. Premium costs 3.75 times Plus and gives 4 times the usage. Super costs 12.5 times Plus for 15 times the usage. Ultra costs 25 times Plus for 50 times the usage. Per unit of usage, Ultra is the cheapest tier, which matters only if you would actually use it.
Video is the tightest limit in practice. Trustpilot reviewers report daily caps on Imagine video that are too low for serious creative work, so creators should expect to move above Premium.
