Manychat automates conversations in social and messaging apps. Its core use is Instagram: when someone comments a keyword on a post, follows you, replies to a story or comments on a Live, Manychat sends them a DM, collects an email or phone number, checks whether they follow you and sends a link. What an Active Contact means
An Active Contact is a person you interact with through Manychat in a monthly billing period. One person is one contact for the month, whether you exchange one message or fifty. Overages are billed monthly even on annual plans. You get notifications as you approach your limit, you can set an overage cap, and if you upgrade within the same cycle, overage fees so far are forgiven.
So the bill depends on how many people engage, not how many messages you send. A creator whose reel gets 3,000 comments with the trigger word in a month would need about 3,000 Active Contacts.
