RingCentral AI Receptionist costs from $49 a month standalone or $39 a month as an add on to RingEX in October 2026. Both include 100 minutes, then $0.50 per minute, rounded up to the next 30 seconds. That makes it cheap for light use and expensive for busy lines: 500 minutes costs $249 standalone.

The price list

As listed on the RingCentral AI Receptionist pricing page:

Version Price Minutes included Overage Billing increment Trial
Standalone From $49 per month 100 $0.50 per minute 30 seconds, rounded up 14 days
RingEX add on From $39 per month 100 $0.50 per minute 30 seconds, rounded up 14 days
Extra minute bundles Not listed Varies

Features are the same on both: FAQ answering, routing by name, location or keyword, lead capture with custom intake questions, appointment booking and rescheduling, six languages, Salesforce, HubSpot and Zoho integrations, 24/7 answering with simultaneous calls, and HIPAA designed encryption and audit logging.

RingEX's own plan page lists other add ons too: Conversational Intelligence from $60 a month, Call Queues Booster $35 a month and Business SMS Booster $25 a month. RingEX seat prices did not display on the page we opened, and RingCentral says annual billing saves up to 33% on RingEX.

What the minutes mean in practice

100 minutes is not 100 calls. With 30 second rounding, here is roughly how far the included minutes go:

Average call length Billed length Calls covered by 100 minutes
45 seconds 1 minute 100
1 minute 40 seconds 2 minutes 50
2 minutes 50 seconds 3 minutes 33
4 minutes 20 seconds 4.5 minutes 22

Rounding adds up to 29 seconds per call. Across 200 calls that can be close to 100 extra billed minutes, or about $50 at overage, in the worst case.

Worked examples

Monthly bill at five volumes, using the published rates:

Minutes a month Standalone RingEX add on Effective per minute (standalone)
100 $49 $39 $0.49
200 $99 $89 $0.50
300 $149 $139 $0.50
500 $249 $239 $0.50
1,000 $499 $489 $0.50

Example in detail: a law office gets 120 calls a month that average 2 minutes 20 seconds. Each bills as 2.5 minutes, so 300 billed minutes. Standalone bill: $49 plus 200 minutes at $0.50, $149. The same office on Nextiva XBert would pay $118.80 for 120 interactions.

Hidden costs and fine print

  • 30 second rounding raises the real per minute rate on short calls.
  • Bundle prices are not public. If you expect 500+ minutes, ask for a bundle quote before you commit to $0.50.
  • RingEX seats are separate. The $39 price assumes you already pay for RingEX.
  • Contract terms. RingCentral's Trustpilot reviews (1.7 from 2,013) include many complaints about cancellation and continued billing. Confirm the term and the cancellation steps in writing.
  • No staffed backup. Transfers go to your own team.

How it compares with rivals

Monthly cost at the same volume, assuming 3 minute calls, as listed by each vendor in October 2026:

Product 30 calls (90 min) 100 calls (300 min) 300 calls (900 min)
RingCentral AIR standalone $49 $149 $449
Nextiva XBert $99 $99 $297
Quo Sona (with one $19 seat) $39 $68 $145.50
Rosie $49 $149 $149
My AI Front Desk $99 $114 $264
Dialzara $43.40 $135 $349

At light volume RingCentral is competitive. Past about 300 minutes, the flat $0.50 rate makes it one of the most expensive AI only options; Rosie's 1,000 minute plan costs $149. What you get for the premium is the widest language list (six, with mid call switching), Outlook booking, native Salesforce and HubSpot, and a clear statement that your data is not used to train its AI. See market wide figures in the AI Price Index and the AI receptionist cost guide.

Is it worth it

For RingEX customers and offices with under about 300 minutes a month of short calls, yes: $39 to $149 buys a capable multilingual receptionist with strong integrations. For high volume or long calls, the meter works against you; price Nextiva, Rosie or Quo first. Read the full RingCentral AI Receptionist review or browse RingCentral AI Receptionist alternatives.
